Truth is we won’t get a new coach it’s coach red so how will anything really change

I can’t even tell you how truly different it would be with Red. He’s not a JB disciple. Gmac is. Autry is not. He’s his own man and he knows the game and schemes way more than anyone knows

What has Gerry done to merit that trust? He hasn't been a standout recruiter. How in the world can we justify him jumping Red? We can't.

Red will just delay the process of hiring a proven coach by 2-3 years. This is a no win situation for him. A coach with no coaching experience shouldn't be put in charge of a sinking ship. That is doing a great disservice to Red. He will not have a long leash and will fail.

I heard over and over on this board the same things about Red about Mike Hopkins. He will run things his way. He wouldn't play zone. Even when he took over during JB suspension it was JB was telling him what to do. He couldn't do what he wanted. Did JB tell him what to do in Washington? I was sold all that stuff you guys are preaching about Red while Hopkins was getting ready to take over. I will only believe it when I see it.

Then why isn’t it happening? As an assistant coach, he should be supporting the overall scheme of the team, no?

Like Red, but that’s going to be a tough sell to the fans. Would really prefer we go outside. Ryan Cabiles needs to go too. His S&C programs give us nothing.

We are a mess. I think we are going to end up needing 7-8 players next year. I’m really concerned about us being Louisville or Georgetown next season.

I don’t blame him if they don’t end up coming here… I blame what we’ve become due to an antiquated defensive system. Try listening to him analyze what’s happening on the court sometime and tell me the guy doesn’t deserve a shot to be a head coach.

Put Red and GMac into a national pool of applicants. If they still come out on top, great.

But both those guys couldn’t move JB off his positions.
