ACC, PAC-12, and BIG alliance / conference realignment

Just watch. We will be carved out and it will be counted as a game in the alliance.
You do not help traditional CFB survive by ending one of the game's most important rivalries. You are correct: ND-SC will remain annual.

And I think that is ND's only such rivalry.

The one glaring problem with that map is TX. I assume that almost everybody would greatly prefer that a team or two in TX would be part of this.

What are the options for USC? Become an independent? Join the SEC?

The conferences will make it the game a priority because it's good content that generates TV $. Not because anyone is scared of ND or USC.

The thing that cracks me up the most about ND's perceived place in the world (we're king of the Independents!) is that for all that freedom, they really exist in their current state at the mercy of these three main alliance conferences. The have some power from eyeballs, tradition, and religion - but it's not greater than the three conferences combined or CFB as a whole. If they want to force you into a conference, they could.
I assume that is the Big Ten plan.

Navy and USC.

If you must, fine. But there has already been reporters stating our yearly game with SC will count as a portion of the alliance. Stanford? Please rotate them off.
That’s fine, but for the record, I don’t want ND in any manner of reconstituted NCAA unless they join a conference. And I have a dim view of your coach, and of your program.

That is your right to hold your opinion.

If Phillips is really this naïve then we have a problem in the ACC.
This alliance thingy sounds nice but it reminds me of the "joint declarations" that one might see from the UN where each side pledges to do X,Y,Z, and there's absolutely no repercussions, fall-back, or consequence should one side break the "agreement". And that's when wars get started.
If the SEC approached FSU or Clemson or USC or Oregon tomorrow, I'll lay odds that none of them will say; "Not so fast my friend. We are part of the alliance and cannot entertain your $100 million offer to join. Not now, not ever"! Yeah...right.
While any school would.have to consider $100MM, that is not yet a real number for TV payout to one school annually. The real issue several have missed is that 41 of 65 teams are in the alliance. The SEC has 14, soon enough to be 16. The remaining eight teams in the B12 will play the game in their best interest but for now, it does look like they will side with the SEC.

The SEC cannot change anything without the alliance. The alliance can change whatever they want. Recall, the P5(4) were granted autonomy by the NCAA, so that is not a check against the alliance.

The SEC will play nice or be quashed in higher academic standards, more stringent recruiting rules, etc. All of which will affect the SEC and the onfield performance.

Trying to get a feel but once we have an understanding of the alliance we tell ND your all in or out. Have fun scheduling as an independent. They can go elsewhere if they want but they will have to adhere to whatever conference schedule requirements.

Notre Dame only does what is on the paper.
The ACC should cut the cord with them. They aren’t joining the conference and just want the status quo as long as they can have it.

This new commissioner is doing everything right thus far for me.
He is putting actual pressure on ESPN to help the carrier subscriptions for the ACCN and he isn’t being a lackey for ESPN.
No, he's being a lackey for Delaney, who's still pulling the strings.

Delaney has two UNC degrees. As BT commissioner, no doubt his dream would have been to land UNC for the BT. Now that he is retired, you can bet that he has more than a passing interest in the health of the ACC.
