ACC, PAC-12, and BIG alliance / conference realignment

speaking of conference realignment...can anyone tell me how SUNY Buff won the battle of Ohio for the last spot in the MAC North over Toledo?

every school in the North is from Ohio but SUNY Buff.

travel wise, that was little bit of a loss for sure.
Toledo was actually a part of Michigan until they lost a border war to Ohio back in the 1800's. So, I guess Michigan is trying to reclaim it.

Looks like espns goal to blow up
The big 12 has gone by the wayside. My feeling is that the alliance buys us time as a conference to get out of the crappy deal we are in currently to make it more lucrative.

Houston, UCF, Cincinnati, BYU to Big 12?

Lots of buzz about this being a done deal. Interesting.

All of that talk about the alliance was really exciting, until we realized it was all based on a handshake. With tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars flying around, handshakes are not very reassuring.

WVU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, TCU one division.

Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas State, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Iowa State the other division.
I think it'll be

WVU, UCF, Cinci, Kansas, K State, and Iowa State

T Tech, Houston, Baylor, TCU, OK State, and BYU.

None of the 4 would be considered for the eventual 4x16.
The "eventual 4x16" will be very short lived because it's the stalking horse for "pay for play". Once pay for play comes in, a lot of schools will go out.

I hope Umass gets into the AAC after uconn blocked them. Coastal and App St the other obvious choices I’d say.

Sincere question, did Texas and Oklahoma approach the SEC first or was it the other way around?

Who did ESPN approach first?
That’s the other thing, how is ESPN involved in this? I’m sorry this may sound stupid but I’m late to the game. Trying to figure out what happened and I did read the first 25 pages of this thread. I still don’t know the origin though.

Not entirely sure although I thought I read that Texas and/or Oklahoma attempted to feel ESPN out as far as what the next B12 contract would look like and didn't like what they found out. What happened next IDK.

Still a geographic mess. Why expand East only to not have the Eastern teams together? If WV and Cincy are not together than they both stick out like thumbs. BYU sticks out like a thumb no matter what.

Even if divisions go away the conference is all over the place. They really need to go past 12.
Add UNLV, and Memphis, and Boise St, and USF and call it a day.

CousCuse would approve
UMASS has 10 P5 transfers and a full roster for the first time, but PITT beat them bad. Bell has to get something going a little bit this year or he is on the hotseat. BC this week looks like a replay.
