ACC, PAC-12, and BIG alliance / conference realignment

What an ugly conference. Temple and Navy do not fit what so ever. North Texas, how/why did they get included?

IMO these are the likely divisions. Memphis can't be too happy.

East- Temple, Navy, ECU, USF, Charlotte, UAB, FAU
West- Tulsa, SMU, Tulane, Memphis, Rice, UTSA, North Texas
Yuck...definitely not a P6

I really think the New Big 12 will easily retain P5 status. No real Blue Blood in there but every team is P5 legit.

They aren't good at sports and SMU covers that market.
SMU is a smaller private religious school that is only supported by their alum families, if that, like Boston College. UNT is a large public school that tons of people in the DFWMP have gone to, they will support them. Also, the MWC was looking at adding some public schools in Texas to get into the midwest time zone so the AAC probably wanted to nip that in the bud. The DFWMP as a region as they define it, is a little smaller than New Jersey and has 8 million people, and is growing fast.

I wouldn't be surprised if the B12 expanded West after Texas and Oklahoma leave. Go to 16 by killing off the MWC too.

As to the G5 they really should become one entity for football. Realign based on geography and pool all the rights and share evenly. Have ten 6 team divisions. CUSA kinda had it right with their proposal.

The AAC should really change its name. The Frequent Flyer Conference, The Pilot Truck Stop Conference or the Megabus Conference.

Splitting up into 10 six team divisions fits nicely. Have scheduling agreements between sections and Hawaii. The other OOC games are vs P5 pay for play.

Or go to 5 twelve team sections with sectional divisions winners playing each other. But still pool the TV money.

It really isn't much different than the current P5. Just with some fixing.

Or if you want to keep the conference names just make the trades to fit everyone in place where they belong.

East (4 Indy, 3 CUSA, 3 AAC, 1 MAC, 1 Sun Belt) AAC best fit?
MD/PA/NY/Conn/Mass - Navy, Temple, Army, UB, UConn, UMass
WV/VA/NC - Marshall, Liberty, ODU, App State, Charlotte, ECU

Midwest (11 MAC, 1 CUSA) Keep MAC?
Ohio - Miami, Kent State, Ohio, Akron, Bowling Green, Toledo
Michigan/Indiana/Illinois/Kentucky - CMU, EMU, WMU, Ball State, N Illinois, Western Kentucky

South (5 Sun Belt, 5 CUSA, 2 AAC) Sun Belt best fit?
SC/GA/FL - Coastal Carolina, GA State, GA Southern, FAU, FIU, USF
Tenn/Alabama/Miss - Memphis, MT State, UAB, South Alabama, Troy, Southern Miss

Southwest (5 CUSA, 4 Sun Belt, 3 AAC) CUSA best fit?
LA/Arkansas/Oklahoma - Tulane, LA Tech, Louisiana, Monroe, Arkansas State, Tulsa
Texas - UTSA, UTEP, Rice, N Texas, Texas State, SMU

West (11 MWC, 1 Indy) Keep MWC?
NM/Colorado/Wyoming/Utah - NM State, New Mexico, Colorado State, Air Force, Wyoming, Utah State
Idaho/Nevada/California - Boise State, UNLV, Nevada, San Diego St, Fresno State, San Jose State,

Hawaii- Hawaii

Wow rumors are the Sun Belt (who was once raided by CUSA) is going to raid CUSA.

CUSA just lost FAU, Charlotte, North Texas, Rice, UAB, UTSA. Southern Miss and Marshall are rumored to the Sun Belt. That would leave only FIU, MTSU, ODU, WKU, LA Tech, and UTEP. Only 6 teams and a geographic mess. The conference might dissolve.

It is waaaay too big given the lack of quality. It kinda made sense when you had UCF, Houston, Cincy. Now not so much.

Sun Belt just added ODU, Southern Miss, and Marshall to the league. James Madison University board of visitors just voted unanimously for JMU to join the Sun Belt. It now goes to the state legislature.

The Sun Belt pretty much just tore apart C-USA and now has an opportunity to be the top G5 conference, which means opportunities for big-time bowl games. Some really smart forward-thinking by the Sun Belt, especially as the question of moving to an 8 or 12 team playoff is back on the table being talked about again.

Meanwhile, UConn is trying to join the recently fleeced C-USA conference. Yikes, how the Huskies have fallen. Rumors circulating that C-USA will try to pick up Sam Houston State from the FCS ranks as well.

The UConn Boneyard wants no part of C-USA; they seem to strongly prefer what they have now.

It’ll be interesting if the FCS is slowly picked apart.

I'd expect CUSA to take Liberty and NM St as well. The fact that UConn fans are mad is hilarious. They should celebrate it for football only.

The MAC seems very solid rn. It’s very interesting
