Anyone know what’s up with SUfootball NIL

It's a little more nuanced post the house settlement. The school can essentially integrate a collective into its operations now. With it comes some drawbacks but they could be the marketing agency and facilitate those deals directly.

See - Buckeye Sports Group, which is a partnership between Ohio State and Learfield. They've essentially merged marketing and NIL operations.

LSU does it a little differently but still incorporates NIL giving into donor perks. Fans get priority/donor points for donating to Bayou Traditions and the line between the LSU fundraising arm and the collective is basically minimal.

School wants to avoid directly running a collective because they want to limit the appearance of athletes being employees. They also don't want to run a collective directly because then Title IX applies.

But there are LOTS of ways a school can make this work and essentially run it. They shouldn't be relying on the generosity of former football player's time to run collectives anymore.
Arkansas is another - Front Office

Same with Tennessee NIL and the Vol Club. They have several people who oversee NIL internally. Syracuse has had one person doing it in addition to managing other things.

Syracuse is behind the game.

By the way, look at what some of these other schools do.

We have one of the top communications schools in the country and the first school of sport management. And some creator economy whatever school. We should be leading this field. It really annoys me that we're not.

We have an army of Newhouse kids who could produce amazing content for the school for free.

That's what the focus should be on -- we're behind and only have ourselves to blame.

^^^^THIS... Think a Fan Rewards Program that has a tracked NIL donation component (donor donation amounts shared by the collective with the school) and that amount weighted heavily in the perks/rewards offers and levels for a fan/supporter. Donate more NIL, get more perks, etc...

And yes, let the lawyers figure out how to structure it legally to avoid compliance issues and liability.

hmmm...they sound a lot like...

unfortunate their company ultimately went under.

Perhaps they can find a new partner and then they can take SUFootball NIL and put them under their management.

It's fine if you just follow who you like and don't read the replies.

People who want their brain washed are going to get their brain washed.
You've never once clicked on the discover tab? Or seen suggested posts? It's a dangerous site run by a dangerously unwell man.

And at this point it's probably more bots than real people.

There's a Following section, I only look there. I know the other stuff is there, I just don't click on it. It's pretty easy not to. The majority of sports news items linked on this board are from X. It's commonly used, and pretty easy to avoid things you don't want to see. Or not act on them.

I hope you're not one of the people that vandalized the Teslas of innocent Harris voters.

while i admire chip's ability to ignore what he doesn't like, research shows it has an impact on people and shapes opinions. And there's a ton of manipulated traffic on the site now. It's really important people leave it.

I deleted Facebook and Instagram and it’s the best thing i have ever done. I don’t do any social media except for syracusefan

I assume you mean all social media sites? I wouldn't weep if it all went away.

But you can see it on this board, anytime something breaks, where do they get it from?

Maybe they could start a new Twitter just for sports.

Facebook is equally as bad.

They (as we all know) track what you are opening on webpages, they use your microphones etc.

Then they use this to show you articles and stuff to further prove whatever point you are making. While not all of them are accuracte by any means. The story telling in them also comes to a slant.

Social media is dividing our country and it’s doing a really really really good job at it.

At my advanced age all my beliefs and opinions were already well formed decades ago. So like Chip I will continue to ignore the garbage and use it as an informational tool.

So are cooler heads prevailing now?
That's what I am interested in. Did BB, JW and Haynie connect with the people they needed to and assuaged concerns and frustrations? Are all donors back in play?
