Are we really this bad?

I am trying hard not to overreact, but this game has really depressed me. Everyone drops passes. nobody blocks. 39 yards rushing against a lousy defense. The only team worse vs the run in the ACC against conference opponents is Wake. I know we are banged up but still this bad?

We have an 18 year-old 180 pound kid as our hope. Truth is that AJ is really a development project. It seems he has multiple turn overs each game and everything good he does is offset by the bad. Hard not to think the pick 6 wasn't the difference.

I doubt we can win another game this season. That would mean 3-9. Wow.

We won't go bowling and we are gaining a reputation as a doormat of the ACC. We will have a tough time recruiting. Attendance will drop.

What is going to change? Its just getting tough to take. Wow. Somebody cheer me up!

That last part is really depressing me. I'm watching it and rooting for TCU out of spite.

Next 3 games are each much much tougher than what we faced today. Maybe not Duke's D, but Cutcliffe's offense will score a lot more than we can.

I love Shafer and think he does a great job at times but I can't help but think he is also a meathead and our teams play embodies that. Dropped passes, dumb penalties, missed chances. Any time an opponent runs play action our entire linebacking corps bites and guys run free over the middle, every time. We play like a bunch of meatheads. As an su grad it makes me sick to get outsmarted by opposing coaches of southern schools every week.

It's depressing to lose to such a lousy team. But we played with a basically 2nd string o line (who can't pass block or open holes). But IMO AJ Long has great potential at QB. He made a lot of good throws. He has touch on the ball unlike Hunt. Yes, the terrible INT cost us big but that's a lack of experience mistake that he won't make down the road with more experience.

We're not this bad. But we have had the snot kicked out of us and too many of our guys are injured and those who are not are the walking wounded. Schedule had a lot to do with it. What else I don't profess to know.

Each recruiting class seems to be even better than the last. Also, programs don't generally ascend in a straight line W/L wise

What's depressing is we lost for the second time at home to teams (Maryland, NCS) that we beat on the road last year. It was obvious today that NCS is a better team than we are. Our OL today couldn't block anyone. Besides the interception for 6 I thought another big play was their fumble inside the five yard line and we try to pick it up instead of falling on the board. That could have ended the game. I couldn't tell who tried to run with it, but I almost ran out on the field and choked the kid.
