Attendance For Purdue

there are lots of people doing things.. but I know lots of people who are still avoiding things because of covid.. I mean look at the numbers its still way worse than last summer by 10X and is right about the same as last fall when we still had restrictions.. If people stayed away last year why not this year. and why are you assuming stadiums are full all over. When you have a crowd like SU thats skews really old it can be a factor . Says its 10% staying away , thats 3K.

if you are the Bills and have 50k of seats and the demand is 100K and 10% stay away its still full.. If you are SU and have 50K and the demand is 35K and 10% stay away its a big difference.. And thats the same all over. if you are selling out LSU games and 10% stay away it still fills up.
Last year they had the vaccine requirement. That kept some away.

Attendance for sports seems to basically be back to what it was pre-2020, if you look at the numbers.

It’s not way worse than last summer, come on. While cases may be higher, the number of deaths has plummeted. Along with the number of hospitalizations and severe cases. The WHO is about to lift the pandemic emergency declaration. NY lifted it earlier this week. I don’t see Covid as one of the main reasons for lower attendance. Keep WINNING and the people will come.
In NY last summer we were at around 1K a day going into august. right now we are at 5k a day and finally coming down. deaths are low.. but still 5x higher than last summer and last year we were locked down.. if we were locked down now numbers would probably be much better but who wants that..

no doubt and who knows how many.. Given the area around here and the people that go to fball games it might have been even more than we thought.

Whatever the attendance, it will be one less. I tested positive for covid last Saturday! Wish I could be there!
Sucks , I missed Rod Stewart / Cheap Trick at SPAC because I was in contact with my daughter who tested positive. ( I never got it ) It’s a pain in the ass. Hope your symptoms are mild.

What would be the cheapest seat if one were to walk up?

SU should have a “Bring a Virgin Fan Night.” The possibilities are endless!

After taking a look at the TM map (always hard to truly gauge numbers especially with resales) I would wager we're going to have between 32-36k announced. IDK how much movement we're going to get between now and 12pm Saturday.

Students play a role here too. Noon is historically tough, but the students the last 2 years have bucked a lot of trends.

SO many options for under $15 per, so that's harder for SU to roll out any crazy last minute deals as well.

35k is the goal because as we know it can be incredibly loud even at that % full

resales can be good or bad.. we could be reselling 5k of tickets and have people in the building or not selling them and they be sold by empty seats.. if you had a count of resale tickets on monday vs today very few would be new additions for last minute people but it it would help gauge sales a bit.

I wonder how dynamic pricing deals with all of this, do we even sell enough to make it a thing?

If we win Saturday, I say 43k+ for Virginia and if we’re 5-0 for NC State….47-48k territory.
This is exactly right.

NC State number may be a bit high but I hope you're right.

Virginia on a Friday night if we're 3-0 should be 42K+. Who knows what the plus will be, but Friday nights have typically done pretty well. Might be closer to 45K if we win Saturday convincingly and get ranked.
