I truly feel bad for him. He’s such a good kid. Wants to compete. And unfortunately sometimes you can’t even cheer on your own team because you’re in such shock of what’s happening. He may not have “earned” anything but he also is being offered an opportunity. This is not what he signed up for I can promise you that

It's ridiculous. He deserves better.

After the game ended, Benny came back out on the court with a manager just to work on shooting 12-15' jumpers, per Matt Park.

I noticed earlier he was working on his shooting during halftime warmups.

Kid must be in a shooting slump.

True to this kids such high character. Plenty of talent to be unlocked. Despite all that can't even get an opportunity to help a team that desperately needs a player like what he can be.

I’d like to know how Florida St manages to find 10 guys every year that are capable of playing in ACC games and we can’t find more than 6.5.

....and the sad part of it all is this starting five is going no where. If Benny was or is ever going to be part of the future Orange, he needs to be playing and getting game experience. I can not stomach much more pitiful defense caused by slow players and little if any effort by another player or two. At let least let the kid play and learn from his mistakes. Maybe he should change his last name to Boeheim?

I truly wish in this instance people on this board know how hard a situation like this is on the player and the asst coaches (especially his recruiter Red) ... these assistant coaches work their butts off to help kids like Benny on and off the court. All to have the kid be forced to sit on the bench. He’s played 4 mins in the last 80. Think about that! The asst coaches are trying to put him in a spot to succeed and the head coach is not. It’s that simple. The leash is beyond short because he think the Jimmys of the world know the game better and will make less mistakes. It’s not true. Everyone makes mistakes. I feel for Red and Benny on this one. And it’s going to be a big loss when he decides this is not a good fit for him long term

He was shooting those exact shots before the Nova game and at halftime of that game at MSG. Good to work on form when not playing.

I fully support the kid making that decision. There’s no reason to believe JB can see his own bias here

... Just like another prospective difference maker who made the same decision last year.

And the head coach won't care, because he's hyper focused only on one thing. And it isn't the long-term health of the program.

He seems like a great kid too, saying the right thing and I believe that’s what he felt when he said it. But there is zero excuse for him not coming in at all or 4 minutes. I thought the kid gave good minutes against Wake (maybe Miami) I believe, thought it was one of his best games with us and bam, banished.

A whole lot like Jesse last year after some good games and then he disappeared.

This is pretty much exactly what I feared. I love JB as a coach and what he's done for the community; I don't want to see him go out like this nor the collateral damage to kids like Benny.

We ain't making the tournament.

A winning season is just about off the table too.

Let's just play Benny 15-20 minutes a game, come what may.

Symir, Buddy, Cole, Benny, Jesse. Let's be consistent to give the kids who wanted to come here a real shot.

Also Symir is the only player beyond Jesse who has shown clear improvement. Let us give Benny that same shot. Joe and Jimmy can come off the bench with Frank. If Joe can't handle it - feel for the kid but he is back into CoVid Joe mode.
