Not trying to troll but UB was legitimately a top 40 team this season. Genuinely think they would've given last years team a run for their money, seeing as it was an uncharacteristically down year for SU.

UB will get a similar higher profiled young coach like Hurley. They were just a 12 seed mid major in the NCAA tournament. They return ALL of their best players. Any young high profiled coach who is looking for a year in the MAC then a leap to the P5 would take this job in a beat.

KenPom has SU one spot above UB and SU would be a 50.5% favorite on a neutral court. Vegas would have who ever was at home as a 3 point favorite.

I saw former Siena head coach Rob Lanier being mention. Better recruiter than coach. Has a pretty good resume. Grew up in Buffalo and played at St Bona like his cousin Bob.

I believe it was Hurley's first gig. And as much as we love Red and Gerry, Bobby Hurley is a bigger name in college basketball, so if UB isn't beneath him, it's not beneath Red or GMac.

The more I think about it, the more I think this job would really make a lot of sense for Red's first head coaching gig.
