Axe wrote the story the fanbase needed said out loud.

JB expecting Axe to pushback against Pat’s opinion is wrong but Axe not pissing off JB is common sense.

You won’t even call him even though the nepotism point has now be said out loud.
“You won’t even call him even though the nepotism point has now be said out loud.”,

what? and who is “you” from above?

If GMac is taller, it’s by like a half inch. You might think he looked quicker, I don’t. Joe is the more athletic one from what I’ve seen. Dunking is hardly the end all and be all of athleticism, but Joe can dunk in ideal circumstances (barely). In ideal circumstances, GMac could not. Not scientific, but at least as good as “idk, I saw GMac move around a lot.”

GMac’s handle was maybe a little better, but not appreciably. Statistically, he didn’t protect the ball any better than Joe does. GMac was not getting by defenders with any regularity and Joe isn’t wholly incapable of dribbling by defenders.

McNamara absolutely could dunk. There's photographic evidence.

Lol yeah, reduce it to “idk I saw GMac move around a lot.” Because that’s what I said. And then make up a bunch of BS. I would just reply with “neat”, but I’m bored.

GMac threw down alley oop dunks in high school games. You really think he couldn’t dunk? GMac had a crossover that he could actually create space with.

It’s really not even close.

PG A: 4.9 assists, 2.1 steals, 2.9 turnovers
PG B: 4.2 assists, 1.9 steals, 2.8 turnovers

Two players, per 40 minutes, as sophomores, playing in elite conferences. These point guards are oceans apart in caliber?

Huh?? Where?

I’ve never seen that.
Link?

We only ever saw Andy Rautins dunk in a game that one time (and it was basically on a dare/bet w a teammate).

Can Buddy dunk?
He’s certainly tall enough.

Send me this photo. I want it as my phone background.

The story I heard is that he tried a bunch of times at a practice and kept getting stuffed by the rim.

Buddy has dunked in games. I’m 71.6% sure.

It has been posted on this site numerous times -- GMac dunking during warmups. With two hands, I believe.

Most certainly did not get stuffed by the rim. He could dunk.

PG B: 4.2 assists, 1.9 steals, 2.8 turnovers

Two players, per 40 minutes, as sophomores, playing in elite conferences. These point guards are oceans apart in caliber?

PG A: .574 TS%
PG B: .491 TS%

Okay, well I’m living in reality. You let me know when you want to join in.

Well, whoever has it needs to send it to me.

You have those reversed.

Already admitted GMac is the better shooter.

It’s not even close though. And part of the reason is he had more skills to create space, to create easier shots, and more of a shot making arsenal. Joe is a lot more limited in those facets.

Reality where GMac couldn’t dunk, and one of our worst starting PGs on our worst teams in 50 years is as good as one of our best PGs who played on some of our best teams?

CuseRunner not 20plus.

Cuserunner wants SWC to ask JB about nepotism.

Statistically and by the eye test it’s close.

If Joe is a SG, then GMac was a SG. As PGs at this point (stripping away the shooting), they’re the same dude.

PG B: .491 TS%
one single handedly won an NCAA tourney game his soph year. The other won’t get to an ncaa tourney game..or if he does, will play the 3rd most mins at guard.

one played half the his sophomore season as a sg as he played with Billy E. The other plays with Buddy Boeheim most of time.

I mean...
why bother

The numbers don’t back your argument. GMac has the shooting advantage and nothing else. He was a mostly catch and shoot player his entire career (I don’t think this is debatable but I’m sure you’d like to debate it). Catch and shoot, in the sense that that’s how almost all of his scoring came. GMac wasn’t dribbling himself open for 3’s. Inside the arc, GMac scored 0.1 or 0.2 more FGs per game than Joe, on just about the same number of attempts, so he wasn’t scoring more inside the arc either.

So McNamara was the better ballhandler - to the point of being one of our best PGs ever while Joe is the worst - yet it doesn’t show up in the assist, turnovers, or 2FG?

Okay

If you’re under the impression that the “eye test” is close, I have to wonder when you last watched GMac was? Memories can be misleading.

GMac might’ve been slow compared to Jason Hart, but he was in another league from Joe.

I guess when you only pay attention to the numbers you want to, it can work like that.

The argument is about PG skill set, not who was the better player. GMac won that game based on his shooting.

It’s hard for you, but try to keep up.

What numbers am I ignoring? Don’t run away.

3pt% is irrelevant to the argument about being a PG or not.

What numbers am I ignoring?

TS%.

I mean, the difference was enormous. You can’t really just say, well ok other than THAT they were the same.

Edit: why did you edit in “don’t run away” into your post? Odd.

GMac was not nearly as quick as you are suggesting. Joe is not nearly as slow as you are suggesting.
