Bring on the Dazzler

Because you disagree with me?

The reason we lost these 3 games is because our coach played not to lose. That’s exactly what Marrone and Addazio would have done too. We need to more forward, not back to 80’s and 90’s football.

I guess you didn’t actually watch Marrone games.

I don’t get all this let’s find someone with ties to “NE recruiting”. I laugh every time. YES, let’s find the person that is good at recruiting the worst area in the country for CFB players. Better not hire a meathead though but if the guy can recruit the heck out areas that proportionally produce almost no CFB ready players, we need that guy. Lol. We don’t want a guy running a 1970’s or 1990’s offense, we just want a coach that can recruit like it’s the 1990’s.

Except he would only use it as a stepping stone again. He is a good coach but an opportunist of the worst kind.

The stones have all been removed. He made his ascent up the ladder and it’s over. Also, if we give him some actual $ to hire a real staff he’s probably just as likely to stay a long time compared to any coach we could get it at this point.

I advocated for Marrone. Had I known his personality, I wouldn't have.

Why, most of the best coaches are guys you’d want to smack the crap out of in real life, like Saban. Or are the worlds greatest liars. Who cares what his personality is. We have a guy with a winning personality now and a losing overall record. I’ll take the guy that makes people mad and gets the job done. I bet he’s probably a pretty decent guy to sit down and have a beer with actually.

Guess reading comprehension is optional on a fan message board. Did i propose Dazzler as the next coach? I did say someone with his characteristics would be successful at Syracuse.

Yes I know everyone’s talking points about going back to the triple option but it was only the most successful offense Syracuse has ever had since I've been a fan in 1975. I want the success that Syracuse had in the mid 80s. Yes, i know, different era, 35 years ago, take advantage of our dome, blah blah blah.

BY the way, do you think our defense would shut down the Army offense ot the GT offense when Paul Johnson was their coach??
Lol you think I'm talking about any of this?

I remember that video of Marrone and Anselmo recruiting Ishaq. Worst sales pitch I've ever seen.

He is a great offensive line coach. He needs. Passing Game coordinator as help. He does get to bowl games and his teams are tough. One issue is fan support. Will fans pay $$ to see a more 1970's-80's style O...even with bowl games? Thiere is entertainment factor...you are trying to fill seats
If we win they will

As long as we are talking about former SU assistants, I would probably rather give Tim Lester a shot. He is 58-45 at Western Michigan and is a pretty good offensive mind. He recruited Dungey and he gave LSU a run for their money surprising them with with Mahoney running the triple option.

He is 45 and good Midwestern recruiting ties, which is good for linemen!
Would absolutely love Lester, shafer may still be here if he was the initial hire.

I'll maintain that the Briles system is still the most aggressive modern system in terms of stressing a defense.
We're not running a different offense with GS. How it's being run is different, but it's still the same plays, same assignments, same reads.
I feel defenses have figured it out to a degree obv if you have the athletes it can still hum. I like what the guy runs at coastal.

I had season tickets during his entire tenure. He had one decent season. He also had a season he started out 5-2 and lost every game after that.
It was 2010 or 2011 and we also finished the year with about thirty players not injured

Fell apart due to lack of depth

Marrone strikes me as strictly an NFL guy. Lousy personality. Lousy recruiter. Type of guy who family and friends probably dislike. Just looks miserable. Probably bullies his dog.

You need to recruit. Marrone is not a people person. If you aren't a good recruiter...a problem for Dino too...college coaching is a really tough gig. Dino has the personality whick makes recruiting failures puzzling. But it is clear he can't recruit well.

I beat that drum loudly but spread is not the only offense that can thrive in the Dome. The freeze option did fine with its large passing element.

Problem with the spread is that it becomes a contest of who has the better athletes on the perimeter, and I'm afraid we aren't going to win most of those match-ups at the highest level.

I like a run-first, play action, option, counter kind of running attack. I like offensive linemen to fire off the ball, instead of back up to protect the pass while better athletes try to get past them (and frequently do ...).

Offensive line play is best when it's built on effort, tactics and a bit of trickery. Those can overcome talent deficiencies.

To be more clear, I like a HC who is a former OL player or coach. Dazzler is a .500 guy who’s sucking at Colorado St.

Would they shut those teams down? Absolutely

Won two of three and took Iowa to the brink

He grinded out some 6 and 7 win seasons and is sitting at 3-6 at Colorado State now. Where's the upside in something like that?
It was poor talent situation at CSU. Full rebuild. This was a complete rebuild so the W/L at this stage is unfair. I think he is doing fine. Addazio is a better coach than Dino. The one concession I would drmand is he hire a solid passing game coordinator. His running game would be very good...but you got to throw some. A passing game is not just dump offs to TE.

What’s a tight end?
In Syracuse?
Endangered species?
