Bills restructuring Milanos contract to free up more cap space.
$4MBills restructuring Milanos contract to free up more cap space.
$4M
Agreed, seems like from a financial standpoint it would be very hard to do without making a corresponding move that would cost us a decent player or away to shed a significant salary. Perhaps there is a way to structure the contact as such for a small initial cap hit but even then you would need to restructure Diggs and probably make another couple of moves to free up some salary space.
So the Milano restructure only brings us down to just under the cap limit with the new signings?
Agreed but the fact that Jones has not landed yet leaves me curious, as if maybe he's waiting on something or maybe the bills are trying to see what they can do to make room.
Definitely think Jones and Buffalo are in contact, perhaps as you noted trying to see what they can work out.
Think this confirms that we'll bring in 1 cheap veteran and then use a day 1/2 pick at cb. No chance it's a rehabbing tre and Dane as only viable outside starters.Levi to Pitt for 2 years 8 mill. Feels like a lower then expected contract and one the Bills probably would have matched if not for the cap issues.
Should have held $ up for downtown and covered.Had the state, county and city over a barrel. If the state didn't play ball they would have had a half dozen cities offering to pay most if not all of the cost and leave NY technically without a team. Buffalo and the NFL dangled the Bills leaving and knew the state would do what it took to get them to stay.
Beane is a mixed bag with FA’s, but I think he’s done a great job so far.
1). We clearly didn’t want Levi or Harry back. Great guys, ok players. Very happy we didn’t bring them back, and also didn’t seem to want to do so. They aren’t good enough.
2). McKissic is an answer for the two deep shell. Love this signing. Elite receiving back and helps offset the (assumed) Cole Beasley release.
3). Saffold is an upgrade over Williams. It seems his pass pro suffered a bit last year, but he also played through injury most of the year. Back with Kromer, healthy, and hopefully he gives us Pro-Bowl Saffold.
4). Upgraded IDL. Settle/Jones is an upgrade over Harry/Butler.
Agreed pretty good FA so far, Thought Harry came on late in the year but can't justify Buffalo matching that contract with our cap issues and his up and down play the prior years.
Would like to see us make a splash signing if possible with Jones or maybe a semi splash at CB or WR. Bates should be back and hopefully Kromer can get Ford going again. Little concerned about TE depth, going to need to address that in the draft I think.
Highly doubt it's possible cap wise but I would love if they could get Danielle Hunter and James Bradburry, then use the remaining draft picks on WR, CB, TE, and G.
Lol… ok?
