Class of 2023 C Owen Freeman (IL) Portal from Creighton

We dont have either right now. How is that hysteria?
Portal open a few more days. Dual may be our starting PG. Euro is a world no one knows about.

I admittedly haven't been high on Freeman, but am refusing to sound the bells.

Call me naive as , I am a few lagers deep. I truly think GMac is building a team that buys in. One that doesnt require blue chip talent.

Yes, we still need talent in the front court. Quote this in February if we are on the outside looking in and it was because of the portal.

There will be no February discussions if this iteration of the roster adds a mediocre big and a bad PG option.

You have to have talent. Buying in can only get you so far.

You got started early, huh? Well done sir. I just began with my first IPA.

As for your sentiment, which has been said a few times on this board about Gerry not needing great talent because of the culture he's building - I REALLY hope I'm wrong but I don't really buy that. Yeah, I think he is trying to get guys who will buy into his system/program, but I think we need better talent (maybe we could have both?).

What frustrates me is the following: 99% of college basketball teams operate as a net negative cost wise for a school. SU is one of the lucky few who turn a profit because of the dome.

Our supposed financial shortcomings are largely entirely self made, the money is there. If the school operated at a loss for just one year (what the vast majority of schools do every year) then we wouldn’t have issues. I thought admin understood the importance of turning the program around and would sacrifice a few bucks for it. I am beginning to become skeptical.

I don’t understand this comment at all. What did you want them to do?

I don't follow. We spend the max of what a school is allowed to spend whether you are Syracuse, Duke or Michigan. the difference is what you can raise through legal NIL. The school can't contribute anymore than what they are doing.

none of that has to do with nil. nil cant come from the school whether the school is in the red or black.

We were told nil wouldnt be a problem this year.

They can't Brian. they spend the max. They need outside NIL that is approved by the clearinghouse as I understand it. We are way behind on that but that isn't because the school isn't spending enough
Well if we are in the top third of spending in the acc I will pipe down.

In Colorado, the sun came out after a snow that was much needed.

Bought a record, the brewery is playing it, and I am vibing to GMac doing more with less.

IMO, this team has upgraded at PG, SG, SF. I am buying to big jumps from Kiyan and Sadiq. Everyone saying they dont, well, forget all you love about college basketball and development. Guess it will always be about talent recruitment. That, of which, both Kiyan and Sadiq ooze in different ways.

Allow yourselves to be a bit sold on what we have. It's seriously okay.

(I also get the hysteria, I honestly do. I won't play fully dumb here. I want elite dudes from P4.)

No one expects 20 mil. We expect to be in the top 3rd of the acc which we were told would happen.
That isn't from the school. We raised more money this year than we ever had but wew ill probably never be in the same league with Duke, North carolina and Louisville at raisng NIL money
