Yep. Not ideal. I think the only portal possibility at this point, regardless of Swider, is a back-up center.

Edit: and now seems likely JBA stays, perhaps JB feels there's something to work with there as a serviceable back-up in case of fouls/injury

Why do you think JBA stays?

Personally I’m fine with letting some of the younger kids fight for PT or we are just setting ourselves up for a mass exodus next year. We need to build some continuity here.

I am not trolling by asking this question. Is it possible that Chaz could get a shot at the spot? He has learned for 2 years and knows all the systems. I can't get my brain around why he wouldn't portal somewhere that he could play basketball in college, anywhere.

yeah I don't know - guess I just feel like if JBA was going to leave he would have by now.
But, yes, I do agree on providing ample opportunities for Taylor/Bunch/Brown for minutes at the 3/4.

I think he stays, because he has nowhere else to go. No interest last year in the portal; plus, coming off a late season injury. The kid won the lottery getting a SU scholarship; in fact, he won the lottery twice, getting the first offer, then being allowed to return from the portal last year.

Man I don’t love that. If Cole stays I’m ok with no more portal adds (besides a backup 5).

But if Cole leaves our wings are Benny, Taylor, and Brown. I like the potential of all 3 but that’s 80 minutes to give to 3 guys who are all inexperienced

I think the forward minutes are up for grabs, who ever wins in practice should get PT. If it's JBA, so be it. He knows the system and has a legup.

How can Cole stay at this point? He's scholarship #13, isn't he? Even JB isn't negligent enough to roll into the upcoming season with only Edwards and Carey at center, is he? If, as everyone is saying, we aren't pushing one of JBA or Chaz out, what gives?
