Cuomo allowing pro sports to restart - Can NY college teams be far behind?

For argument sake. Let's say the the 0.25 number becomes accurate, either by proper estimate, or weakening of the virus.(or treatment, Remdesivir, or the other 3 drug combo that showed the same results)

How likely are you to go?

Outdoor stadium? I'm more likely.

Old Dome? NO WAY. That humidity in there is from people breathing. Petri dish. Opening game, there was a fog on the field because of it? Right?

New Dome? Tell me about the ventilation system...and how it will be used to exchange the air. (CFM) That's how I base my decision.

Either way...I’ll be at an MLB game in the summer of ‘21, at the earliest.

i was looking for a Dr Friends.

Sorry about your wife. FWIW, I’m a big fan of Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Me too Bees. The issue with Sloan which i learned when my Dad was diagnosed with Cancer is they have an age restriction on certain cancers. Specifically based on surgery, age of patient, and stage. I believe they do this to artificially increase their success percentages.
My Dad wanted Sloan vs Traveling and living in MN for months. Mayo is much different when it comes to older patients. Simply put they place a major emphasis on your physical results regardless of Age. My Dad was and is still in good shape so they allowed his surgery. I went with him and we lived at the Marriott Hotel which is attached to the Mayos tunnel system for 3 months as he recovered. The Mayo and having the means to do this was a blessing. Back to Sloan if you can get in they along with Hopkins, Anderson, and Fred out of Seattle are the best in the world.

Didn't Cuomo issue an executive order (or its NY equivalent)? If not, sorry the title should be renamed to whatever body issued the order. However, as Cuomo lifted the order, he presumably thought he had power to do so, thus the title.

If you have a better title, recommend one to the mods and ask them to change the title, I have no issue with accuracy. I am not being facetious, nor defensive. I want an honest, politics free debate whether SU takes the field/court this upcoming season based on Cuomo's, and not NJ's, acts of allowing the pros to play.

I know AZ, FL and TX have opened up and now NY and NJ have opened up. Other states are moving in the same direction. My opinions that there will be sports. People are tired of being couped up. Sports is a great distraction. Whether fans are in the stands, limited or full capacity, or not, the games will be watched.
Wasn't a complaint, just strick me as odd.

So far June 8 is the earliest ACC return date. Interesting with Louusville's staggered approach.

Here’s an interesting note...

Animal Adventure (a private zoo) which is the zoo that has the world famous April the Giraffe located in Harpursville NY has been CLEARED to OPEN on May 30th.

so you’re telling me, I can go where thousands of people from all of the country are going to go to starting THIS Saturday, but I cant go to a football game this fall? Come on now...

Also important to note that we can’t have customers in my brewery but it’s okay to go where 1000s of people will be?

are there any restrictions? The zoo in Syracuse opened but you have to make a reservation and reservation times are every 20 or 30 minutes. It isn’t just let everyone in. It’s very structured to keep people apart. And there’s a time limit for how long you can stay. Think it is 2 hours.

There announcement as of this moment just stated that they are “opening for foot traffic” starting May 30th previous time this you could only drive through the zoo.

I have very serious doubt that people are coming from all over the country to go the Harpursville Animal Park. Maybe as far as Binghamton... maybe

You would be wrong, Doubletree in Binghamton has a travel package because so many people come in to see April the Giraffe and her baby...she was the famous giraffe everyone in the world was glued to watching while she was pregnant for months

I drove 2 riders from Binghamton to the park on a Saturday last summer. (Uber)Based on the size of the parking lot and the number of cars I don’t think I am wrong. Zoos all over the country have Giraffes. If somebody flew in from Across country to go to this place they have to be crazy.

I assume much of the zoo is outdoors? If so, I imagine that makes a big difference.

Yes it is outdoors and I do realize that makes a difference...however, Cuomo has stated now attractive nuisances...this is a prime example of it in my honest opinion...

Close everything and filter entire communities through the same super markets indefinitely what can go wrong?

And if a certain number of people use a public outdoor space like a park shut it immediately because they are all idiots and irresponsible for intentionally going for a walk at the same time and not social distancing...

This is all so stupid. I’m sorry if your extremely old or 100 lb overweight and terrified of covid. I really am. But the rest of us with a 99.98 survival rate if your under 50 and healthy need to be allowed to get on with things.

I got half way through page 3 and now there are more political comments than football comments. I can't get away from the politics and the fact that everyone is an expert on COVID-19. What if I just want to read about football and the potential of playing versus not playing, fans versus no fans, concessions versus no concessions. Every single post is jut becoming political. I can go to the off topic section for that, and I often do. SU sports has always been my escape, but no more on here.

Oh. ps. For those who think people under the age of 60 don't get it we have a poster on here with a child who is in their 30s who has been very sick. Still waiting the test results. But you are all so naive about this...I just can't read this anymore. Where did my football go...

I agree. Sadly, there may be a political component that drives all of those decisions, that might be relevant. I think the mods have done a good job trying to allow the topic to be open,, with the hope it doesn't devolve into something best suited for the OT forum.

I have no idea why y'all bought 10 years of toilet paper, or why what should be adult conversations devolve into the hate that is politics. I do hope the thread remains open, with respect to those that may have a different core belief system.
