Sorry for some reason I am not getting alerts again, thought I cleared this issue up yesterday, guess not. On Buried Acorn, yes I have heard some really good things about them and seen a few things posted about there beers in the beer group I belong to. Really looking forward to them opening, the sours are supposed to be out of this world.

Yup...Sonic was a huge too when it opened. LOL

CNY still has to get Zaxby's and Raising Cane's...the cops need their overtime.

The inventors of fried chicken for breakfast may need protection once it catches in the north. Seriously, this New Yorker wouldn't dream of eating fried chicken for breakfast. Eggs - yes, chicken - no! At least until my boss brought chicken biscuits one day and shamed me into eating one.

True. There was a similar commotion when Tasty Creme opened a restaurant on Erie Blvd on the east side of town. Huge crowds, insane business.

I believe it closed within a year; two tops. People in CNY might be anxious to try something new but they aren't stupid. If the product and price aren't up to snuff, it won't last here.

That being said, Chick-Fil-A is good. They should do very well. This marks the official baptism of Syracuse as an ACC town.

Can Waffle House be far behind? Their invasion has made it to Clark's Summit, so they aren't far away.

I went to one waffle house in my life while traveling through Arkansas. I believe once was enough for me.

My one experience with Chick Fil-A was that I didn't get it. It was tasty, but not anything that I'd love to go back to. As far as fast food addictions, give me Popeye's and Five Guys any day of the week.

Krispy Kreme is what you were looking for there. And yeah, that opened with much hoopla and didn't last very long at all. I think part of it had to do with corporate more than lack of success at their Syracuse shop. They expanded so rapidly that they obviously missed projections and couldn't keep stores open that weren't super successful.

Could be misremembering the timeline, but I think Krispy Kreme was one of the chains that got clobbered by the popularity of Atkins. Carbs were falling out of favor right when some carb-heavy chains were undergoing national or regional expansions and they took a big hit. Montana Mills, an Upstate bread store, was one of the casualties.

Yeah that sounds about right. Seemed to be around the same time that Dunkin Donuts started to offer more than just donuts and coffee as well.

Thanks for the correction, you are right. They lied about profits to the tune of $25.6 million dollars.

But I went to the store once a week (my employees loved their doughnuts), drove by it a lot and it wasn't closed down just because of corporate. Sales deteriorated dramatically. Maybe OttoMets has the reason; though Dunkin Donuts never seemed to be hurt by this (they have been adding stores around CNY for a long time with no end in sight).

Anyway, good to see this franchise arrive in CNY. I hope they do well.
 
MM commercials are bad enough on ACC feeds .. dont want more on local stations .. and nothing beats NY pizza

I vote for "bad"

The City needs a replacement of the via duct that will spur commercial and residential development.

This needs to be done.

The Trump budget decision - along with his increase in my taxes in 2018 - is not a good thing for CNY.
