Development in and Around Syracuse Discussion

The only people against the Community Grid plan are with the Mall, have stores in the Mall, are employed by the Mall, or are politicians receiving lots and lots of donations from those who own the Mall.

Plus a few dishonest people (ahem, prominent attorneys/former SU male cheerleaders) in DeWitt.

**** that.

I want my monorail !!!

The higher/wider viaduct to the skybridge to the Harriett Tubman bridge to the cable stayed bridge. How clever

"A new alternative could improve the Community Grid plan. A high, cable-stayed bridge, in combination with a street-level Community Grid, would prevent at least 36,900 cars on a daily basis from flooding neighborhood streets"

I'm hearing that the Town of Salina has yet another pitch in the planning stages.

I remember when this happened, the details are so horrifying. I hope with this new reward they're able to get some leads. She had been drinking at the Tip a Few in Eastwood and they think she was walking back to her apt in Grant Village.

This is the last week for The Blue Tusk. I'm sure folks that are not familiar with their history will go into the new place when it opens but the whole situation is a mirror of what happened to J Ryans. I honestly hope Blue Tusk ends up somewhere else

Can't say I love the new look, but the current look is pretty bad. Just glad that this redevelopment is finally happening, many years after it was originally supposed to be done.

Hopefully this actually happens. They were starting to demo inside this building when I worked in Dey's 10 years ago and then everything stopped.

It sounds like it's much closer to actually happening than the previous redevelopment was. OttoMets probably knows more about what happened with that one. If I recall correctly, the major office tenant that they had lined up to take over the renovated space backed out (Apen Dental maybe?).

Yeah, Aspen fell apart and then so did the ownership group. This one's been a long time in the making and it's a strong proposal, pretty exciting for downtown.

Not true.

Not true.

OK, there are also those businesses just north of the mall who want to still get the through traffic from south of the city. I think there are about 27 businesses in that group. I remember them lobbying before.

In the end, if they improve and widen some of the local streets where northbound traffic to the city exits, then it's only a 5 minute drive to their destination.

Another thing that's possible, is instead of going all the way to the current 481 - 81 Intersection, they could build a spur that connects around Mattydale for the airport. That could also suit those Salina businesses.
