I heard some of the football factories are wooing him to organize their tailgate programs. We better pony up if we’re going to keep him !He is a global brand, my dude. On par with Nike and Coca-Cola.
I wonder what the synergy will be between Micron and JMA?Tremendous job! I think they were originally talking to AMD, who chose another location (Virginia, I think ...). So this is a huge "save".
And if you take into account JMA, who manufactures wireless technology, we are really building next generation employers here in CNY. This is very exciting for our future!
I'll send my ace salesman, Bill Brasky over to show you your error of judgment.Never heard. I only drink Brawndo.

Micron picks Syracuse suburb for huge computer chip plant that would bring up to 9,000 jobs
Semiconductor giant would invest $100B to build a mega-complex here. "This is incredible and transformative news for Central New York," Schumer says.www.syracuse.com
It was TSMC and then Intel. They went to Arizona and Ohio.Tremendous job! I think they were originally talking to AMD, who chose another location (Virginia, I think ...). So this is a huge "save".

eh, there are waysAs a Florida Resident that might be problematic
"The state also agreed to spend $200 million on road and infrastructure improvements around the site."So now it’s going to take me an hour to do the 10 mile drive to Cicero from Baldwinsville instead of a half hour. Hopefully they can figure out a way to widen 31 because it’s already a shat show.
For awhile I thought Syracuse was going to be the San Antonio of the NFLIt was TSMC and then Intel. They went to Arizona and Ohio.
Looking at the map...they absolutely need to build an interchange off I-81 at Mudmill Rd and/or somewhere about a mile north of the Cicero Interchange."The state also agreed to spend $200 million on road and infrastructure improvements around the site."

They all had a hand, but without the Chips act this doesn't get done.
Al Stirpe and Rob Simpson also deserve call outs.
And the Chips Act would never have happened without COVID.
The county was aiming for a much smaller tenant and a much more modest investment and struck out a number of times going after these relatively small fish.

According to McMahon, they have already committed - papers signed etc.Nice if it actually happens.
NY Times article.
Over the next 20 years, Micron said, the project will generate nearly 50,000 jobs — about 9,000 Micron employees and more than 40,000 jobs for suppliers, contractors and others. The plan also calls for Micron and the state to spend $500 million on community and work force training.

Couple thoughts.
Does this encourage Lockheed to continue to focus on their Syracuse campus and commit greater investment here?
With Micron coming in, Utica-Rome will benefit in the fact that Wolfspeed will have to improve their wages. While they pay well for the area, they are low wages comparative to the industry. Moving or commuting an hour away won't be difficult for those currently employed there, if Micron is going to pay more.
Can the powers that be land another whale for the south side of Syracuse, or something just east in Madison county?
Will SU invest greater in an engineering and computer science program / school?
