Dumas says Mali Gone

You also have to look at this way, if he comes back next year, he will be the focal point of the offense, he and Tyler will be lead dogs.

If Mal comes back for another year he will be a lottery pick.

I think his chances are very good to be a lottery pick next season, but it's a long way away and anything can happen. Very possible and I'd say the odds are good but not a lock.

If that is a certainty, NBA teams are aware of that, and they would love to land a lotto pick with a selection towards the end of the 1st round.

Nothing is a certainty, but you have to think with another year of development, with him being the focal point of the offense, his stock will go up.

Well right now he might not even be a first round pick, so which option should he pick?

If I were Mali I'd stay without a doubt. He's more capable than Ennis and Grant improving his stock. I'm not saying this because I want him to be here but saying what's best for him while taking my Cuse hat off I think he should honestly stay.

Players do develop in the NBA, even if they do play.

Its alot harder doing it in the nba, in the nba they aren't going to hold your hand, if you aren't getting it done, you are on the bench.

I don't agree. They have much better facilities, a plethora of coaches and specialists, and world class team trainers and doctors all while having no limitations practicing or classroom distractions.

We also have great facilities. You also have more practices in college basketball that focus more on player development. Practices in nba during the regular season are usually a shootaround.

As awesome as our facilities are they don't hold a candle to the NBA.

I probably won't convince you but prospects in the NBA are worked with extensively.

The only way to truly get better is playing in games, playing in the best conference in the country. He is not going to improve his game sitting on an nba bench, working out a couple times a week.

Dude. why would anyone ever leave?

I can't name one NBA player who was a finished product out of college. You can obviously improve in the NBA.

NBA basketball is extremely different than College Basketball. Learning the NBA game is best done playing the NBA game.

You're right about the specialists for sure. Many, if not all teams, have player development coaches, whose jobs are to basically work with players on what they need to do to get better.

Btw in the NBA you can afford to hire a trainer, a nutritionist, etc if need be.

You can play the game back and forth a thousand times about regrets leaving early. There are just as many regrets for staying when you shouldn't have.

That's absolutely not true. There are many many more stories of regret for leaving early than staying too long.
