Fran should have outed the 30% yeas ago or when he was coaching. The media "insiders" turning a blind eye and now expressing moral outrage is phonier than the coach and school saying they care about academics. You aren't a hero Fran. Step aside.

If you're critical of him for not exposing this, don't you have to be equally critical of Every non-cheating head coach and assistant? They must all have known. Including JB and Hopkins. But you don't make public accusations of cheating without proof. If the NCAA didn't have proof and it took witetaps, and confidential informants to bring this all down, how was Franchilla supposed to do it ethically and responsibly? And even while some of them were cheating, they're still 'colleagues' in some loose way. Being a 'rat' in any environment is still stigmatic, even if you're a well-heeled white guy.

I mean, Hopkins had a contract and it was set in stone. You questioned whether or not a contracted existed, which is why you were tarred and feathered. Of course, it did. Hopkins always had the option of leaving and Syracuse always had the option of not honoring the contract.

Of course a contract WAS there. However I openly admit I was mocking it's worth and intention. I questioned how set in stone it was, the validity of it, etc. Meaning that it can be changed, altered, and revisited at any point. I was just shocked how many did not think it was even remotely a possibility that Hopkins would not be the coach here. Unless any of us were in that room; we just don't know what thw actual terms were and/or VS what the media was told.

Jay was talking about first hand knowledge he had from when he worked for a sports agency prior to television stuff...there is so much out there that alot of these guys know but never talk about obviously it has been going on for years but I was a little shocked jay dropped that bomb like that so casually! So much dirty laundry will be aired out going forward!

These guys in the media know about all of this stuff - they'll sing now so it doesn't appear as though they contributed in any way to the problem.

Just like any contract? What makes you think it could be changed or altered? We all knew Mike would have left if USC offered him the job. Not surprising he left, given Coach B has no intention of retiring anytime soon.

I agree with the latter. We all know contracts are broken, changed, or altered in any field. It just happens, obviously. It doesn't matter anyways. The whole succession plan was botched up royally.
