I am going to ramble for a minute or two so bare with me.
Mike is taking over very soon. He must have his blueprint for all things including his staff and recruiting strategy. Maybe some insiders can comment but I believe there will be significant changes. Mike gets one chance and he is going to do it HIS way.
I agree that the sanctions have hurt. I believe the pending retirement hurts. I believe conference affiliation hasn't helped us either...I mean we were the biggest dog in the big east and I believe that meant something to kids. What are we now? Look the next 3 to 5 years is huge. This is a dog eat dog business and we need a staff who can blaze a new trail...what we did in the 80s and 90s doesn't mean jack to kids. What are we doing now is what matters...you can't live on the past. If you could Indiana and ucla would never have shitty years. I am not going to push the old coach out but the short term plan for the program is more dependent on Mike then it is Jim.
