Future Campus Framework Discussion

Quick update for those interested - I had a tour of the Miron Court progress on Monday. They are about "90% complete" on construction. The space is huge and very impressive. There is a large video board that will stream live game action; a new gate near existing gate G in addition to entrance from gate P into the "vestibule" area; from the interior there will be 3 large access points from the concourse. For reference, one of the access points will be near section 324.

Will there be or is there a staircase to the lower level? I come from the COML lot and usually walk around the Dome when I enter because the student entrance is the lower level closest to me. Would be a lot easier to enter at MVC.

MVC will have a new gate entrance near where you enter now. There will also be an entrance at gate P (closest gate when coming from the quad/main campus). The new entrance and gate P both enter to the upper concourse. No new staircases. As an alternative, you could enter at gate E to get directly to the lower concourse. Gate E is down the stairs between gates N and P. Much shorter route than walking around the Dome to gate (student entrance).

Thanks. I think I go in via Gate E, and I think D is closest to my seats. People were using the campus side MVC entrance (P?). I use the lower entrance to the right of that (E?). But that is opposite the ESF area where I arrive at the Dome. The easiest thing would be to enter MVC on the ESF side and take a staircase down near Gate P(?), and vice versa on my exit from the Dome. Having to walk around Arch with all the students going in the opposite direction causes a log jam before and after the game. I tried this game exiting the student entrance (?) and it was a little easier to get out. But that isn't a possibility going in as it is student only. I suppose entering MVC at G(?) and taking an old internal staircase before the game could be the best once MVC opens. Better to walk that new concourse than around Arch.

If you arrive at ESF, the easiest access to the lower concourse in via gate A. Aisle 101/130 will be directly in front of you when you enter. Where are your seats?

This seems underwhelming???? Does it have a large footprint and amenities? Doesn’t seem like much but very hard to tell.

Will Gate P move to the outside entrance or will it be unchanged? With the hassles of re-entry I hope they will make moving between MVC and the current concourse easy and convenient. Right now it still looks very cutoff from the dome itself.

I was able to take a tour before it was completed. The entire room is hard wired so food and beverage stands can be moved into the area on game days.

The flat screen TV is huge and there are 10 or more smaller flat screen TV’s along right/dome side. There speakers throughout the area which are tied into the TV’s so fans can see if the game while having a beer/food if they want too.

Looking forward to using this entrance connected to this area and hanging out here pregame.

Not really cut off at all. Maybe you shpuld wait until you actually see and experience it before you worry?

There will be an entrance to the MVC from the quad into the "vestibule" area. Gate P will be inside of that area. So...you can enter the vestibule area without entering the Dome itself. The large area of the MVC will be accessible from ESF side via a new exterior gate - right next to existing gate G. Once inside that section, there will be access into the upper concourse.

Being able to move in food/beverage stands at half and hopefully event post-game would be great. Would ease congestion as noted but also raise more money for SU especially if they open up post game (which I think is probably unlikely). As others have noted with the Dome original construction it's hard to do a huge cosmetic add on but the addition looks very solid from the photos and should be a real nice addition.
