Future Campus Framework Discussion

Not really cut off at all. Maybe you shpuld wait until you actually see and experience it before you worry?
1. I did walk by it during VT. Lots of drywall making it feel like a separate entity.

2. The only thing I was “concerned” about was having to do re-entry checks which would not be ideal.

Well done overall, but the giant columns kind of suck. I'm guessing they didn't have a choice?

Video they showed during basketball game looked nice. Excited to check it out during UConn game.

Biggest issue right now is people linger in concourses and block traffic. This should in theory help but it’s only on one side so curious how much it helps. Too bad we can’t a similar area on the other side. Won’t make much a difference for basketball but the backcourt area alleviates that.

If tickets are taken inside the Dome, wouldn't MVC be outside? As in you cannot go to MVC once entering the Dome?

This seems underwhelming???? Does it have a large footprint and amenities? Doesn’t seem like much but very hard to tell.

If it’s just a big lobby without concessions, and can’t be accessed after you have entered the Dome and had your ticket scanned, then I think they missed the whole point.

Make this a big food court / bar area available from within to ticket holders during the game. This will lessen pressure on concourse traffic.

It's not in this set, but I saw a pic last night (maybe it was during the broadcast) that showed the space set up with vendor stands.

They already have beverage stands in the new area. Spotted them last night. They also have a couple dozen cocktail tables.

I'm obviously doing a poor job explaining this. The main, much larger section of MVC - the one with the video board, concessions, bathrooms, elevator - will have an exterior gate entrance. There will be free access into and out of this area during the games. Fans will have full access to that area regardless of the gate you enter from.

The entry from Gate P is inside the smaller section of MVC. This section is separated from the larger section by a floor to ceiling glass wall. It will be possible to enter that smaller area without entering the Dome.

Thanks. Is it officially open?

I don’t get why SU has been so secretive about this. No renderings. No promotion. No video walk through.

I believe it was because the design etc changed many times, it was WAY behind schedule and had about 20 project managers.

Ultimately I think there were things that the Universitu were unsure of and didn’t want to release too much information because they didn’t want bad information getting out.

Once it’s officially finished which I think it’s like 98% done, I have feeling a lot more information will come out

I thought they blended well with architecture. al least very good while still maintaining structural stability
I haven’t seen it finished in person yet but I agree the pictures of the exterior look really nice.
