Hello Orange people I am BronxHoya87 and I come in peace. This is odd for me to say since I have had such a volatile relationship with Syracuse over the last 25 years or so.

Fact is your program has been far superior to ours over the last 22 years. No way around it! In 2007 with a trip to the Final 4 in our back pocket and with zero senior starters I thought we would become the heavy of the conference again but that did not happen.

I want to address a variety of topics with you starting with the recruitment of one Mr. Noel. I am flabbergasted as to why you would be shocked that a kid who is 6'11 and is a shot blocker would possibly select Gtown?

Again currently you have the better program, better players and a much better coach but you will never have the big man legacy that we have. Take away the loathing in your heart and admit that Georgetown is probably the best place for this kid based on our his story.

Ewing, Alonzo, Dikembe now Hibbert and Monroe. Hibbert is now a NBA All-Star and Monroe in the eyes of NBA GM's is the best player in the NBA under 21. If he stays healthy he will be an All-Star for the next decade. He is doing all this without superb athleticism or height. He learned the game and improved dramatically under the tutledge of JT3 and staff.

I want to keep this missive semi brief because I have a lot more to say later about JT3 (very average coach and I am down on him) our fan base (sorry excuse for fans) and the Georgetown online community who have morphed into virtual hero worship regarding JT3. He can do no wrong despite flame out after flame out in the NCAA Tourney.

In college it doesn't matter what you play or do if it gets you to the NBA.
Kwame Brown is a perfect example.

Its all about when you get to the NBA if you cut it or not.

Gtown is still a good program.
If I may ask why are you talking about Noels? Hes down to Syracuse and UK last I heard.

You heard wrong dear lad. Gtown is a major player for the young man. I think we all know that now.

As far as the NBA and who produces players perception is reality. The point guards Cal has had from Rose to Wall all would have been NBA players regardless of where they signed. However, the perception is that Cal produces great point guards so the best kids in high school who play lead guard all want to go to Kentucky.

Yes Zo, Ewing and the other great bigs from Gtown would be NBA guys regardless but since they all come from one school we get credit as Big Man U. Perception is reality.

Dude if you're going to try to make a snarky reply, keep up on current affairs. His top 3 is us, UK, and G-town. And his last name is spelled Noel.

Greg Monroe was the #1 prospect in his class, if he failed to do something in the NBA Goergetown should have been burnt to the ground. Hibbert is 7'2" and progressed as much as any big man we've had here, he just happens to be a giant. We think Nerlens is better than what you guys can offer (i.e. fans, pratcie facility, a real conference, attractive girls). That, and we hate you down to our very core (not so much you but the institution you support).

You answered your own question.

Not exactly and here is why

Duke has the best program in the country so do you think it wise for Mr. Noel to go to Dukkke to be one of the Plumlees with more melanin and a high top fade?

Do you think Coach K the best overall active coach in North American sports would do a better job with Mr. Noel than JT3 would?

Here is the deal, we have too many advantages for him to pick you over us. We have the better practice facility. We have a better home court. One of his best friends plays for Syracuse. It is closer to home for his mom. He will be playing for a Hall of Fame coach. Your advantage over us, at one time, you had great big men.

Short Answer.....Georgetown Sucks.

We are talking about Georgetown. Come on think realistic, bronxhoya.

Don't forget the self-proclaimed nickname for their school!

No need for bad feelings here sir. I too have a disdain for many of my fellow Gtown Fans especially the many online.

Honestly I grew hating you guys but really the last 22 years our rivalry has been more hammer vs nail than UNC vs Dukkke. You guys held up your end of the bargain and we did not.

Back to our "supporters" They have zero expectations for the coach and the program. They treat the ball team as a mid major when I think it could be so much more.

If you point out that the emperor (JT3) has no clothes they lash out verbally and you are persona non grata on their message boards. You either toe the everything is great company line or you are sent to the nearest Gulag.

congratulations on having the balls to post here. here's a high five:

You are an oxymoron!

I for one would not be shocked by any choice by Mr. Noel. But since you ask, here is the answer, even aside from the comment from a poster above who had an excellent response to your own comment:

"Fact is your program has been far superior to ours over the last 22 years."

You answered your own question

The key point here, is that even if you claim to be Big Man U - all of your bigs were 5s.

Mr. Noel will probably projects to the next level as a 4.

Who has a better history at the 4 spot than the Cuse - Coleman, Wallace, Hak, Hackett, Jackson, Orr, Alexis, etc, etc, etc !!!

At the Cuse he can play either spot with a superior overall big man history.

I take it your not a fan of jt 3

You asked why between the schools he's down to. That's why I would be absolutely floored if he picked Georgetown over Syracuse and Kentucky.

we got MCW nuff said.

So your advantage is a kid who hardly played this year? People have siblings at other school's they are close too (Mr. Noel's older brother goes to NC State and plays football BTW) and they dont make a decision to attend one school or another based on that. If he goes to Syracuse the deciding factor wont be a AAU buddy.

Yes Syracuse has some advantages but lately you have had some major public disadvantages. Nothing is worse than a sex scandal involving minors. No need to delve further into that abyss but the point is made.

I take it your not a fan of jt 3

He has potential and the kids do improve. Problem is he does not have a offensive style that attracts guards.

Guard play wins in college. I would like to have a pure point guard who can get his own shot, handle vs pressure and guard the ball.

JT3 wants an undersized 2 guards who are spot up shooters but lack athleticism and handle. Pressure and traps kill GTown every year because of the lack of handle and our guards being slow of foot. I hate to see glaring problem exist with no attempt to remedy it. He is stubborn and slow to adjust.

I have other concerns that I will address later.

1) Noel weighs 210 pounds. He is not going to be a 5 at the college or NBA level. Your big man theory is not applicable here.
2) Georgetown has no chance to win a national championship during Noel's one year in college. No offense, Gtown is a good program but he wouldn't have the surrounding cast he needs to get a ring.
3) Georgetown is a lot further from the Boston metro area than Syracuse is. You can get from the SU campus to Fenway Park in less than 4 hours...
4) Fan support. Georgetown doesn't really have any. Syracuse arguably has the most fan support of any program in the country.
5) Competition in practice. No offense to the kid but going Nate Lubick in practice each day is not the same as going against Rak Christmas and DeJuan Coleman.
6) Facilities. I know Georgetown is talking about building a decent practice facility. SU has one of if not the best in the country.
7) Connections. Noel is tight with MCW. Does he have a similar relationship with a Hoya player?
8) Coaching. JB is in the HOF. JT III is not considered a top coach in his own conference. He has done a good job keeping Georgetown relatively competitive but his accomplishments are not close to those of James Arthur Boeheim.

There are other reasons that he would choose Syracuse over Georgetown. A great practice facility and the ability to play in front of 34,000 in the NY metro media capital of the world.
