Gerry Staff Predictions…

What would benefit of HAK be as GM? Serious question. He’s not a talent evaluator or anything. I know some other schools have done this, but it doesnt make sense to me?
He is a scout for the Pistons…and was also an assistant coach for the G League Ignite team

Ahh, thanks. Did not realize he was a scout now. Thank you.

I would prefer Hopkins personally in that position I think, but at least Hak has some experience.

Oh you don’t care. I don’t care. But Boeheim cares and he runs the damn program, don’t you forget it!

The haters narrative 😆

I think AO would be a VG hire as big man coach

Just watch Folefacs footwork and there is zero doubt in the work he’s put in with Arinze. Plus AO is a really smart dude to go with. Lee and AO would be who I want. Love to see Blackwell get his shot at the job at Siena. Other than that a mix of other guys especially an offensive mind.

I would hope the GM hire is someone who knows money, and can evaluate college talent. You can't take a flyer on someone here. Enough of the mom and pop organization crap. Use your connections Gerry whatever they may be and go out and get an expert.

Gerry wasn't my first choice. But if we weren't hiring a coach with 10+ years successful experience its a crap shoot. Bryan Hogdson has won just as many NCAA tournament games as Gerry. The best candidate were Schertz and Calhoun. Schertz re-upped and was never available and Calhoun's team is still playing. The whole if he's an SU guy he can't be any good is such a CNY attitude. Honestly those of you that can't handle an SU guy getting the job are embarrassing yourselves. I could care less where Gerry's staff comes from as long as they are his choice.

Gm-hop
Ac- Maurice Joseph
Ac- Ben Lee
Ac- AO
Ac- Blackwell
Player development- Brandon triche
Director of bball ops- Beaury
You need someone for your bigs who has played as a forward and center and defended at both positions. Someone who can teach how to play at the high post. Bring DC in as a special assistant he taught AO, and Rick Jackson at the Big East tournament how to seal their defender, and get the entry pass.
He knows how to play the game, and when healthy was as good as anyone in the NBA.
And I'm sure even after all these years he hasn't mellowed to the point where if you don't give 100% effort he wouldn't get angry.
That would be Gerry 's bad cop.

Lee is the guy who’s rumored as a possible coaching candidate for Siena.

LOL.

Yeah, no.

First off - there’s nearly zero correlation between a player being great,
AND also great at coaching those skills.

DC was a bit of a unicorn.
And a DAWG.
He came in with the ‘tude, and then added skills to his physical abilities.

We have zero clue or evidence that he could coach up Bigs today.

Secondly - WHY would any former high end player who is comfortably retired, have ANY desire to jump into the grind that is college coaching today in the portal era?

IF DC had *any* interest in coaching, he woulda done so long before now.

I’m 1 year older than DC, and I know I’d never have the energy and drive needed to be an AC at a P4 program.
That’s a 12-15 hour a day job, and there’s basically no offseason.
