Head of NCAA officials John Adams

Several years ago, my nephew & I watched a UConn/Georgia Tech FF game that was so badly officiated, that the crowd, unprompted & in unison, started to chant "LET THEM PLAY! LET THEM PLAY"!
Then & only then, did the officials put their whistles down & let the kids decide the outcome.
Horrendous officiating is a factor in every NCAA game- & until they decide to seriously address it, it will continue to be.
Knowing how quickly & efficiently the NCAA moves on "issues" related to the sport, I won't hold my breath.

Refereeing in college ball has been terrible all season long. The true crime that the refs committed last night was that they destroyed the flow of the game with their inconsistent foul calling. The kids out there didn't know how they were to suppose to play. What would draw a whistle and what wouldn't.

Worst thing IMO is the charge. Refs get it wrong 75% of the time and always side with the D. It ruins the game as it makes things more of a jump shooting contest. I say get rid of the charge entirely if the refs can't get it right. Still have a player control foul for someone barreling in. But get rid of the charge which has become a defensive weapon for teams like Duke. Sick of guys sliding under or moving yet getting calls. That IMO is not defense but good acting. Has no place in the game. Also I would go back to 2 refs. Less refs less fouls called IMO. There is nothing worse than seeing stoppage of play and FT shooting. It bores the hell out of me.

I'll never blame a loss on the ref's but as officials in football and umpires in baseball you know they're doing a good job when you don't realize they are there. By the same token you know they are doing a bad job when they become the center of attention, and refs like that should be told to shape up or they will not work.

You would think with all the help they tried to give these guys, that they'd have some idea how to make this call. Instead, even with the semi-circle and "new" rules...they still get it wrong almost all the time.
Game after game, you'll see 4-5 block/charge calls that the replay clearly shows were botched.

Besides the Brandon charge call the other one that pissed me off was the one on Dion. Craft was defending another player low on the wing, Dion began his pre-dribble drive, Craft sprinted to a spot directly in his path and blocked Dion who was airborne. Anytime a defensive player is still moving as an offensive player is launching to get airborne the result should be ignored or if there is an advantage gained by the defender a call should be made against him.Oh Lord
