Its tough since Gavin did have a very impressive stretch in goal against MD. Thought he was solid against UVA too. It's been said a million times before, but the constant goalie switching is never a good thing. Almost always better to roll with someone for the whole game. Despite that horrible clear, I do not think Gavin deserved to sit against Army, and I don't think Thompson did enough wrong to sit against Hobart.

Agree that the trigger finger is a bit itchy right now, but pulling your goalie can sometimes give the rest of the team the kick in the a$$ they need. On the other hand, as a hockey goalie myself, I can tell you there's no better way to kill a 'minder's confidence than pulling him too early- I've had coaches who probably don't realize how close they were to me disrobing and taking a naked lap before exiting the ice.
