Horse Racing

I bet small...like 2, 3, maybe 5 bucks on a race. its for fun and to pass the time. Last night i was bored and placed a couple bets at Wyong in Australia. Ended up nailing a $50 win in one exacta, and came a nose away from hitting a trifecta (likely wouldnt have been much more as all 3 were fairly low odds)...apparently my upside down betting skills work well down under.

A lot of people rave about the racing in Hong Kong as well

Sha tin is super fun to bet here on the west coast on a sat night.

all the handicapping is really jockey specific, like 1 of 2 jockeys win every other race. So try to find a long shot to pair with them in a quinella (no exactas are avail) and let it roll

There's BIG red and everyone else. I watched a race he won at Woodbine on the grass was unreal. Once in a lifetime equine athlete. His cruising speed was just unreal
Forego was born 50 years ago today. He was a pretty good horse also. Won four horse of the year awards. Something that will never happen again.

Hailing, 50th Birthdate of The Mighty, FOREGO, The Big Gelding, as popular as any horse to ever race on the NY Circuit!

My all time favorite, probably because I saw him live. Never saw Big Red live.

its just the most amazing race to watch. to see the camera dude just keep panning out further and further and then at the end cant pan out enough..

Was pissed forever my one chance as a kid to see Big Red at the Travers and he left us home.. Then had to listen on a radio delay to hear he lost.

Does Sham win the triple crown that yr otherwise..

Loved Secretariat, but Forego was also my all time favorite. 34 career wins, many at outrageous weights, with a little under $2 million is purses. He would have won $200 million at today's prices.

Just went and looked at his '76 Marlboro Cup race vs Honest Pleasure - one of my greatest racing thrills ever. Take a look if you haven't seen it.

It was the Whitney he lost to Onion. He didn't run in the Travers because he was sick.

Yeah my favorites live would be Rachel and Wise Dan. I don't go back that far
I saw American Pharoah lose in the Travers and I even bet on Keen Ice to do so. But AP was a rock star. Well worth getting up at 4 am to see a triple crown horse up close.

AP was for sure, I saw AP at Coolmore in Lexington two years ago. He's a sweetheart as well. What's funny about the AP prodigy is they are proving better on the grass than dirt

I guess it does somewhat help the town as even without fans you bring some money to saratoga.

Two Arkansas Derbies this weekend.

Charlatan from the 1 hole with all the speed seems like a free space in the horizontals as long as he can make the distance which shouldn’t be an issue

In the second, I’ll probably spread a little and put win bets on Farmington Road and Silver Prospector if they stay at decent odds. I’ll stay away from King Guillermo (jockey is a TB downs specialist, I don’t take much from that race) and Storm the court who’s done nothing since the breeders juvie win which looks worse and worse with every race as everyone from that race has been losing at every distance

Buddy of mine owns part of Ice Princess, 3 YO NY bred filly running in the big stake at Oaklawn today. 9th race. Tough race but hoping she can run well.
