Jamie Dixon to TCU

umm.oil industry has been kicked in the nuts big time. not sure that's a sell point.

I'm not sure I see this happening, as much as some SU fans want Dixon out of the ACC. Dixon has had very, very good teams very recently. Although he hasn't had success in the NCAAT, he got #1 seeds in 2009 and 2011. He thinks he can do that again, as he should. Pitt has history, and recruiting ties all over the Northeast. Why would he want to ditch all that and go to TCU, the BC of the B12, aside from the fact he played college ball there? Assuming TCU doesn't offer $1m/year more, if Pitt wants to keep him, they'll keep him.

The TCU chancellor (prez) likes to tell a story, he asked the football coach a few years ago,
What do you need to be competitive? The answer was an indoor practice facility, the bill $7 million back then (8-10 years ago),
So the chancellor went to a donor lunch and was talking about the need for a practice facility, said it was going to be a long road, but they would like to start raising money for a practice facility.
At the end of the lunch a couple of donors approached the chancellor and said "We would like to help"
The chancellor said great! What can you get us started with $100,000?
Oh no, the donors replied, we will donate the $7 million!
One lunch talk, $7 million practice facility done.
They may be willing to pay up for a coach, they took a pretty big contract hit firing the last coach early.
OK good talk

It'll be interesting to see who comes out as candidates for the position.

Archie Miller?
Greg Marshall?
James Jones?
Danny Hurley?

Pitt won't appreciate the mediocrity they had. With that said this is awesome news for Syracuse.

Dixon owned us and crapped the bed against everyone else.

Danny Hurley is probably the best Pitt could do right now. They aren't getting either of the Millers.

I wonder if Miller -- not Archie, but his brother, Sean -- would consider returning to his alma mater.

Archie Miller makes a lot of sense in this situation. Local guy.
