JMA Dome: The Next Phase

Will there be partial individual seats for 2023? They'll have 3 full months (plus maybe a week) to work on this before the Colgate opener on Sep 2, so it would seem like they'll have to have some of it done. Then do they leave it alone until after 2024 graduation?

Not happening.

Because of the massive amount of work to move season seat holders around etc it’s better to just do it all in swoop. The goal is to talk to as many season seat holders as possible to get an idea of what they need out of their season seats

None will be partially done at all

I’m not criticizing but this just seem odd;

SUAD) Hey, are you renewing in 2023?

A) you betcha

SUAD) Um, everything is changing in 2024 you renewing for them too?

Lol. I do get that this will require a lot of planning on their part and I do applaud their efforts to accommodate STH.
Has to be done this way. It's an 18 month project.

The Dome is going to be even better than it already is. And what with the program heading in the right direction now (imo), probably not a bad idea to secure ST if you don’t already.

Maybe I’m naive but how the place isn’t sold out for every FB game is beyond me; I like it better than MetLife. Amazing facility to experience a football game.

So I assume the work that's being done after commencement is the wireless stuff, and maybe working on connecting the east side?

They only have a 3.5 month window each year when no one is using the building. Even less in 2023 because they're pouring some sugar on me in early August. Assume they're not disrupting any of that, then they have to do it all next year with the seats.

True. We will renew as is for 2023 and then request to have a third additional seat for 2024 where we are currently if possible. The people next to us are STH but only went to two games, not sure if they’ll renew. I really don’t want to move/ shift at all cause I like our seat neighbors.

Renderings look great

I worry a little about the inside looking very dark during night games but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Would they be able to have cushions like we have now? Having an old mans butt those bleachers killed me and those cushions did the job.

I doubt it as there’s no need now, but those seat backs are legit. Like sitting in an orange marshmallow.

they have to complete the wifi before next season hopefully?

do they proofread these releases? A few glaring grammatical errors.

This is the phase I am most excited about. The video board is cool but the seats will give the Dome way more of a "new" feel. MSG felt like a totally different arena once those old colored seats were ripped up and the new ones were put in.

Reading through what's involved in the next phase, installing the chairbacks might be the "easy" part. I can't imagine blowing out side of the Dome and connecting it to the Barnes center is an easy feat.

Seriously everyone. If I ever win the Powerball or Mega Million, I'm doing a feasibility study on blowing out the west side of the wall and creating an atrium into the Dome. Like all glass Minnesota Vikings style.

It's the same side as BBall. There's room with the hillside grass there. It can be dug down and locker rooms/lower levels can be expanded!! And just what that would look like from the West/from the new I-81/blvd. Ohh my..

The fact they can do this on the other side gets the hard part out of the way. Just gotta win the lottery now..

You’ll still be looking at Nancy’s student housing which obstructs the entire west side from that angle. You can see the truss peeking over it but that’s it.

anyone else counting seats in rows?

2024.
No, he originally said 2023. He said it would start during Lacrosse and areas not needed for graduation. He said it would be a huge challenge to get it ready for the fall of 2023. If you click on the front page article in the Post Standard and the article from April 22, 2022 comes up and Pete said it will be a very aggressive task to get it ready for 2023.

That was old news. They’ve rewickered the time frame.

Should be orange floors/concrete all around... Blue seats... Then when us fans all in orange sit... They see the blue outlines left... which should be none...
