Is Rutgers D horrible?
The whole Rutgers team is terrible. Honestly if you take Tucker out of the Albany game what do you have? You really think Adams and Lutz carry us? NFW

I think their D will end up being average to good (top 40-60)

Yeah, we still win by 3-4 scores

Interested to see what the Wolverines put up on them this weekend.

Even UConn beats Albany by 3-4 scores.

I respect the moxie from last year. Gonna be a good one Friday night!

We have so much Tommy baggage that we’re now literally posting that if Tommy struggles we hope Dino switches to a LESS EFFECTIVE quarterback.
I’m not saying you’re wrong with the sentiment, I’m just saying that’s how crazy this all is.
Not necessarily directed at you 690W, but "I'd like some people here to please clarify "less effective" re; Shrader vs TD.
Devito is one-dimensional, locks onto his primary receiver, can't improvise or move in the pocket, and runs like an addled deer before inevitably getting creamed. That hit he took vs Albany was just deja vu all over again.
Shrader started off rusty, but at the very least was able to string together some decent runs and elude the rush. Tucker is our primary weapon, and we need a QB who's a threat to take off and get some yardage. Our WR's rarely get separation so you're left w/ a strong-armed and nothing else QB, trying to operate under a porous OL.
I'm jaded and cynical, and totally unimpressed by Devito. I'm hoping at the first hint of the expected stagnation on offense that GS can come in and give us a spark, and not be pulled because of "square-peg-round-hole" thinking re; TD. We know what Devito brings and have seen it for 3 yrs now. Play GS for Pete's sake. JMHO

Great post. That’s my whole point, we’re all jaded and cynical with Tommy. He’s given us PTSD. But Shrader has no ability to throw an accurate ACC Ball down the field. He did it once. I think his skill set should be utilized here and there but I’m convinced as mediocre as TD is, he’s absolutely the more effective overall QB.

Fair enough. But I get so many Jay Cutler vibes from TD. Great arm, can make every throw, but something's "missing". That type of QB thrives under a good OL, but flounders when facing a good/great defense. Its like there's no other tricks in the bag because he can't step up when rushed, or improvise when needed.
In ACC play I don't see Tommy doing much of anything to be honest. Feature ST, add the threat of a mobile GS, and we might have something to work with moving forward. JMHO

Oh, and by the way- I am hoping for an extra crispy serving of CROW should TD prove me wrong.

If that's truly the case with GS, then that is a huge fail by the coaching staff as there must of been about 50 more QB's in the portal. Had to be a few guys in there with a more developed skillset.

Nothing the like the gamut of negativity before something even happens
Cusian, you're one of my favorite posters and this isn't personal at all, but do you remember your gamut of negative predictions years into the future in the Tennessee thread?

He seems to be in that Cutler, Trubisky mold.

you realize on Saturday and for the season Devito averages more yards per carry than shrader.

I’m not a betting man but that total sounds about right. I would guess it would be under. Think this will be a defensive game.

I’m actually thinking the opposite. I think a fair amount of points will be scored.

40-60 in CFB isn’t good. It’s just average. Rutgers D is going to get demolished by anyone good in the B10.
