I was joking. My implication was that the four members of the Marrone fanclub have been leading the 'Marrone will land a HC job immediately' bandwagon for a while now.

I wonder how many folks were not in the Belichik fanclub when he spent about 5 years as an assistant after getting fired in Cleveland.

i dont understand, he won 2 SUPER BOWLS as a DC, then took the browns to the playoffs and even won a game.

many of us Giants fans wanted him, but he was tied up with Parcells in those jet negotiations...so Fassel was the right call.

he had a big fan club.

And others have said he will NEVER get a HC job again. Even if it does not out this year, they guy will be a HC again unless he really screws up as an assistant.

Again, he still got fired from Cleveland and spent 5 years afterwards interviewing to be a head coach again before getting a job.

Yet people think Marrone is a failure for not getting a HC job after leaving Buffalo. Sometimes it takes time to get the right fit but folks seem to bash Marrone for maybe not getting a HC job this year. Just ridiculous.
 
let's face it either you lIke him and trust him for reasons unbeknownst to many on this board or you dont based on recent historic track record on what he says verses what he does.

I don't bash Marrone because he didn't get a HC job last year or this year (or likely ever again).

I bash Marrone because he thinks he's Bill Parcells - yet he stinks.

I don't have to like or trust him to know that he is a good coach and will get many opportunities to be a HC in the future, maybe not this year but he will.

I am not defending Marrone at all but the hatred towards him with regard to his career path and decisions on this board is over the top.
 
What's pretty amazing is that his name appeared as linked to more openings than anyone else, 7 I believe, and he didn't get any of them.

2 cycles, no HC job.

I would guess it gets harder as these cycles pass.

Because it was all fake. His agent leaked all the info to the "insiders" of the NFL.

And for the second straight year, those insiders turned out to be clueless just like most of the rest of us.
