Marek Dolezaj

I think we are going to get an official anytime now. Marek only follows 44 twitter accounts and one of them is this handle. Seems very legit.

How can he not be Orange? #44
As long as he doesn't wear #44 I am all for him wearing orange! Lol

He may not be the answer to our 3/shooting weaknesses immediately. But make no mistake, Marek will be a great player for us. Marek, Brissett, and Moyer are a decent group of young forwards to potentially have for four years.

Let's not forget about Sidibe. He can play the 4 too. He's likely to play center this year but he has the athleticism to man the power forward spot.

The tweet I posted reads to me like it's not official...aka: the SU staff has not received confirmation from Dolezaj or if they did, didn't intend for it to be out yet. I'm guessing the former. Otherwise, we'd have other reporters who cover the team confirming the Eurohopes tweet. I'm sure a commitment confirmation will not be far away anyway.

I don't take anything from that tweet. Makes sense to me that a service in Europe would know first and like someone else said, jb isn't gonna just call to a recruiting site.

so assuming this is true who is favored to be starting small forward next year, or at least the two starting forwards? I guess its too early to call but just seems like a lot of competition at all three frontcourt spots

I would say Solejaz starts at the SF spot. I watched three full games and his game is handling, slashing, running the floor and he shoots at range with confidence. Of the three (MM, OB, MD) he is the only one I'd call a small forward. I think this would also mean Thompson starts and plays most if his minutes at the 5. I'd think Matt has the advantage with a year here to get the nod at the 4. Although I don't think it matters too much. Dolezaj, Brissett, Moyer . . . . Not very many teams will have 3 forwards of that quality IMO.

Decent you say. I think one day in the future you will be like " I can't believe we had Thompson, Sidibe, Moyer, Brissett and Dolezaj all on the same front line."

"Too bad we only had 3 guards and no true PG"

but not really

I try to stay down the middle. The world was never ending when we lost two kids to UK and Duke, but to expect these players who we've never seen play at D1 to be all-timers is a bit much the other way.

I'm not saying all timers just saying of those 5 guys I mentioned at the very least 2 will play in the NBA. Some day we will look back and think wow what a stacked frontcourt we had.

This legit?

Very possible. I'm sure I'll think the same around Halloween.
