ok. so men's lax vs. women's lax is a totally different universe and should not ever be mentioned in the same paragraph. basically boils down to sheer physicality of play . there is no comparison between the two other than similar sticks.

Maryland’s interior defense was stellar. They packed it in. Tillman recognized that’s the way to slow us down. They made us work for almost every goal.

I have to say love english as dmid n man down. But if he’s gonna play offense then he needs to have some what of a left hand. Guys are giving him that left alley shot all day not even playing on his hands till down low where they know he’s gonna try to spin back to right hand or try cut under them with right hand. If he can’t get left hand then have him play opposite side so he going down right alley. I’d rather him just not play offense but it’s whatever.

Also coaches need to mix things or players up specially ones in a slump like birt. Throw him at attack once see if he can do anything there to build his confidence. I like McCarthy has need speed n makes good passes but he needs to learn to shoot. If he is just gonna let other guys handle scoring then no point for you to be out there. He def can create his own shot but doesn’t pull trigger.

I love the flashy stuff but it should come when calls for it not just cause you can. I like to tell guys wanna do that that’s fine but if ya miss ur gonna run at practice. 3 things will happen if came true. 1 they will bury all them. 2. stop doing them so much or 3 we will be the best condition team ever. All seem like wins to me.

The emo goals n two rebounds seem to def be the diff as that’s 4goals which we lost by. But offense really screwed pooch today. Second half barely any ball movement the spacing was all wrong n to far out. Dropped passes, balls popping out. D losing guys or sinking to far down leaving mid range shots open. Tho D n goalie thought played more then well enough for us to win sadly offense didn’t.

March and gait def didn’t seem to make any adjustments at half which going vs tillman who is very very good coach n great at adjustments(hate giving tillman any credit as think he’s scumbag (glove rule BS n other stuff) wasn’t gonna cut it. Need someone other than mullen need wings to pick up gbs. We need a lot more heart from this team.

Who has Anderson beat on a dodge besides one JU short stick? Potential is one thing reality is another. You can switch Leo to attack and now you’re guaranteed he is dodging a pole 100 percent of the time I’m fine with trying it. Again I will ask when has Pat March made an offensive adjustment that has won Syracuse a game ????? Desko and Donahue were masters at it. I don’t even see where March is bringing in big time recruits? Other then Hiltz what players came because of March?

Desko is a way better coach, but lost it on the recruiting front…. Gait is able to get the guys, but I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone develop into a better player under him is my take.

I agree with trying anything to get a spark Gait needs to rip the clipboard out of March’s hand he has wayyyyyy more experience in big game coaching then March. Gary was very good at in game adjustments with his offense with his womens teams. Schemes are different but March seems to have no answers ever.

We need a combo of the two.
Desko was a good coach but his recruiting fell off a cliff until that last class. Gait has recruited well but the Xs and Os has been OK to underwhelming at best. I'm retrospect we should have given Desko one more year, problem was the Spallina class was another year away when he got fired

and lets be honest that last class was mostly because joey grew up a cuse fan and wanted to go there and then a bunch of other top recruits wanted to come play with joey...i am not taking all the credit away from desko because he still needed to seal the deal but im not sure how much of that class was his doing vs. reaping the benefits of what would have happened had any coach been there at that time...

the best thing gait has done is infuse the program with a new culture and a much more positive one...things got rather toxic toward the end of the desko era as everyone here remembers. gait has turned things around...but i also cant shake the feeling that hes just slightly out of his depth as the head honcho...i dont know if he can get them to the promised land...jury is still out
