Mobile Tickets

I read all 11 pages of this problem and tried down loading our tickets to my Apple Wallet using my i phone 6, which has iOS 12.5.4. I couldn't do it.

Eventually we used my wife's iphone 12 with iOS 14.7.1. We were successful in downloading both our tickets to her Apple Wallet.
yours probably needs updating ( not an i phone person ftr) or is too old

Yes.

I think the Apple Wallet got enhanced a lot as a result of the COVID epidemic. If you have a really old version of the iOS, it is unlikely you are going to be able to use many of the new features it has.

So the board recommendation is, if you have an iPhone and want to use the Apple Wallet, try and get to the latest version of the iOS first and you will be much more likely to have success.

My phone tells me my software is up to date.

Your iphone 6 has gone about a far as it can go. My Mom's old iphone 5 had the same issue.

I still have an old ipad running iOS 9.3.5. Facebook and Twitter still work, and I can get the internet, but most of the other apps won't work anymore.

You need at least iOS 13 or newer to get the NYS Excelsior App to run.

I've sent for the WiFi router and it will be here on Monday but I've been impatient to get this thing done so I went back to the Apple Store at Destiny. I asked the guy in front, (a different guy this time) if I could use their WiFi to update my phone to 14.7.1 and he said I could sit on one of the chairs near the back and just press the link in settings to do it. He said it would take about two hours. It took about half that during which three friendly employees came up to ask if they could help. they answered all my questions. I also backed up to the cloud, (another update the phone wanted). I had several updates listed on the App Store that couldn't be done under 12.3. They were gone when I looked, so they must have been automatically done.

Then came the big moment. I went to the 'S" app and to manage tickets and to the Rutgers game, X'd off of the blurb about using Apple Wallet, then pressed the magic button...and nothing happened. No change.:(

I called a young lady who had offered to help. She pressed the magic button several times, for different periods and with different pressure. And nothing happened. She went over and talked with another guy, presumably her boss. He came over and worked with it for about 10 minutes. he observed that the website was weird, the bar code was strange and the blurb that prevents you from doing what it is asking you to do until you x out of it is the "stupidest thing I've ever seen".

He asked for my password and logged back onto the site - and suddenly everything worked. He added the Rutgers game and the Albany game to my Apple Wallet and gave it to me to do the rest. I've got the whole season on there now and my fears that I won't be allowed into the game are gone, (unless the bar code is too strange).
:):rolleyes::cool:

He made this comment to me: "It looked like we were on the right website but that wasn't it. I had to log back into it to get the real website". I didn't press him on what that meant but I suspect what I had was an older version of the SU website that has been redone for the current operating system and I've now got the current version of the SU site, which I could not have gotten without the update.

So now let's go and win some football games!

(If you go to the Apple Store, the big key is to get past the guy out front who says that they don't have anyone there who can help you. the people in the back of the store were not only cheerfully helpful but as happy as I was when we cleared everything up.)

Congrats! I sincerely admire your perseverance!

Tonight's observations.

No issues with the "electronic" part of it. Both my ticket and Covid Pass were in my Apple Wallet beforehand, and they had no problem scanning them.

The "admin" part needs work.

1. First she scanned my Covid Pass
2. Next she scanned my ticket.
3. Lastly, she asked to see my ID.

Shouldn't they match the ID with the Covid Pass at the same time?

I could have used someone else's Covid Pass and they wouldn't have noticed.

And the AC works great !!

Super happy to hear this!

Did they/you try deleting the Cuse app and reinstall? This is usually a reliable fix too for the app, if u want to use that.

Probably. The guy had the phone turned away from me and pressed and slid things at a most impressive rate.

My friends call me that as a nickname for having a knack for finding great deals right before a game or event as I always wait to kickoff or showtime and score great deals for tickets for me and friends. People would be surprised how little you can buy prime seats by just waiting till the end to buy them.

Great way to buy concert tickets!

He wouldn’t be able to re-download the app without your apple password or face-id

If you don’t care, and the website is fine with you, don’t bother. If you ever want to try to get the app to work, I suggest deleting and reinstalling before you try to use it to its full capacity.

I think the app is quicker, but clearly there are plenty here who prefer the website, both will work, just preference.

He asked for those and I gave them to him.

Congrats SWC75! I am not sure we could have started the home season without you in the stands!

I have to reply here. I bought my IPhone to make my life better, not more complicated or to be tracked. I don't know what IOS means or even care what it is. I looked at Settings on my phone and have no idea how to determine the IOS.

I get tired of looking at the map function on my phone and the phone asking if I want Pizza.

I did take a photo of my vaccination card to prove I've been vaccinated and I like to check email and SyracuseFan postings. I am not going to the Apple store and wait an hour for a kid to tell me my IOS is outdated and I need a new phone.

There is a positive about mobile phones. I was able to save a young woman's life. She was so engrossed in reading her phone she walked out into an intersection and I was able to grab her from behind before a truck hit her. That was a good thing.

Thanks, I've made a notation. I still don't know how to find what IOS I have. You now get to tell your friends that some dope on Syracusefan didn't know his IOS and you can all have a laugh.

i dont have an iphone but on my samsung. you go to settings and about phone and then software session. I hope it helps. I would never make fun of anyone with technology struggles unless they were born in with a year of birth starting with a 2

Roger - Select Settings/General/Software Update. Updating your phone should make it more secure and operate better.
