NBA Playoffs

As unreal as Irving and James were (and they were unreal), GS had a lot of chances to cut the lead to 5-7 but just didn't make them.

Yup, I texted my buddy after the 3rd when GS got sloppy and Cleveland turned around and had dumb turnovers giving it right back that I thought that was going to come back and bite them. I think the lead was 9 or 11 to start the 4th and said they're going to regret not stealing a couple buckets late to make it 13 or 15.

Kyrie was insane in the fourth and kept doing just enough to keep the cushion.

Iguodala trying to go all Globetrotter and turning it over on a fast break when it was 99-92 was huge. Cavs came down and hit a 3. Went from what couldve been 5 point game to a 10 point game just like that. It was pretty much over after that, as that's when Kyrie went insane for a few minutes.

I don't think it's Love. The way Lebron and Kyrie play, no 3rd star will succeed.

Chris Bosh got hated on in Miami and was just lucky that he hit some big shots. Love is playing the same role but not hitting shots.

It's not Love. It's the fact that Lebron needs an elite level sidekick but with that comes the minimalization of everyone else on the court to jump shooters and rebounders.

Golden State was at one point 10-20 from 3 and ended 14-42, so do the math. (It's 4-22 if you don't actually want to do it)

The only problem here is Bosh could defend at a much higher level. It's tough when the third "star" is the guy who needs the ball a lot. That being said, Love played 33 minutes and grabbed 3 boards last night.

This series is going to 7 and ABC/NBA will be happy. Lebron played well and deserves credit for that last night. However, the Warriors couldn't defend the pick and roll.

Without Bogut I think the Warriors will just go small earlier and use Speights as the bench big.

Also NBA people which package is better for Jimmy Butler? Zach Lavine/Gorgui Dieng/5th pick/ or Avery Bradley/3rd pick/23rd pick. He is likely getting to traded to Boston or Minnesota.

Either package seems pretty light to me, does Butler really want out? I don't really get it from the Chicago POV

I think the Bulls are dumb if they trade Jimmy for either of those deals. They just aren't going to ever to be able to replace that value IMO. D. Rose is the guy they have to dump. Boston would have a legit backcourt though. Probably the better deal IMO.

He and the coach don't get along. Also, I think Chicago is blowing it up. With Noah and Gasol leaving as FAs and Rose going on his last year of his contract and the Bulls aren't going to pay him.

I just feel like if you're going to blow it up, Jimmy Butler seems like a pretty good guy to build around. Is there a better 2 guard in the league?

I don't disagree with your point. I would rather have Paul George but Butler is a top tier 2 guard.

Also, the Bulls owner is notoriously cheap and also I have heard he is resentful from the negotiations from last year which resulted in Butler getting the max. For some reason they didn't like the barrel Butler put them in.

You think he is better than Klay?

I don't consider George a 2, he's probably better.

The guys I was thinking of were him and Harden. Klay might be better? They're both really great and can do it on both ends of the floor.

I'd prefer the former. Avery Bradley is solid but he has peaked. Lavine could be special.

That's a crazy stat about Green at center. I'm curious how he comes out in G6 after dealing with everything the last few days. He plays with so much emotion I wonder if he'll be fired up and locked in and play great or if he'll be almost too emotional and start pressing a little bit. Or just doesn't care and plays like he always does which is probably the most likely outcome.

Either way, it's become a big joke surrounding the Cavs but they need to find a way to get Love more production. Not even so much the points because I do think he adds value with spacing that frees up others but they need him to be more of a factor on the glass. I didn't pay attention to it so maybe he was always drawn out of the paint on both ends which makes it tough but in a game where GS has Green out and Bogut hurt for the last chunk of the game you absolutely need more than the 3 boards or whatever it was he got. Cleveland dodged some bullets in the 4th when they gave GS some second chances off misses.

I think you have to bench Love. I think he's hurt. Rumor is that his knees and/or back aren't right - and that's why he took that extension with the Cavs instead of doing a 1+1 and waiting it out to go big in 2017.

The weird thing about Love is he is shooting better from 3 than he is two in the playoffs. He's turned into a specialist. He hasn't played this bad in his career outside of his injury shortened 2013 season. Assists are down, FG% is down and turnovers are up.

"The best Cavs beat writer."

That's like saying he's the smartest kid in the dumb class, or the skinniest elephant.

Good one, bro, I served up a high hanging curve and you went deep into the upper deck.

I admit, I was referring to only the half-dozen or so Cleveland Plain Dealer reporters and the two Akron Beacon Urinal staffers covering the Cavs, I don't check out the Kent-Ravenna Record Courier, Canton Suppository, Elyria Chronicle, Youngstown Vindicator, Warren Tribune, Mansfield News-Journal, et al.

Yea I read something similar about his knees and the contract. Which I know your hands are kinda tied because you want to win now but I wonder why Cavs would give a guy with bad knees such a big contract. Probably figured the cap hit would be watered down in the new environment going forward.

I don't know what the answer is in this series. I thought when GS went small after Bogut got hurt it would be a perfect time to just have him sit on the block here and there and go to work but he was floating around the 3 point line as a floor spacer still.

Really makes you appreicate how good Bosh was in Miami in his role. He was great defensively in that system with how mobile he was in their traps and recovering then offensively he allowed them to do a lot of different things.

Chris Bosh is so underrated. It's amazing to me.

Yeah - Bosh doesn't get the love he deserves, but he'll be HoF, no doubt.

Love can't protect the rim. Can't move very well. I assume GSW will start the death lineup with no Bogut available, so I think Ty Lue has to strongly consider starting RJ and benching Love.

And the thing with Love is, if he really is healthy, it makes sense to move him to a team like Boston after the season. But would he even pass a physical? Clearly, the best lineup with LeBron is one that has Bron at the 4, a rim protector at the 5 and three shooters. Love just doesn't fit any of that.

Cleveland wins and everyone trolling on poor Kevin Love.

Couldn't even grab a rebound over Steph last night. The smallest guy on the court.
Kevin Love looked like the worst player on the floor last night. I would have taken Bogus post-injury over him.

One of my co-workers (cavs fan), said that Chris Frye should play more over Love. That was after he asked if Love was the point guard. So, there's that.

It was close. Harrison Barnes was a black hole. At least Love was guardable.
