NBA Playoffs

I have a question for the Lebron followers, but why do people automatically assume someone hates Lebron if they are not rooting for him? I hear this all the time, and honestly it gets old. Can't someone root for the other team? Do you have to hate Lebron to root for the other team? It's the most repeated thing I hear over and over...

I agree, it can be a boy who cried wolf scenario sometimes. I'm probably guilty of it or atleast give off those vibes more than I realize.

He does/says a lot of corny stuff. I cringe at some of his press conference comments but I don't really care if people hate him or not. I love watching him play, everyone says he's a great teammate, and he's never really done anything off the court to make me think he's a bad person.

Personally, I only say it when you get people who think because they preface what they say with "I'm not a LeBron hater but..." and then make 5 posts in a row taking petty, exagerrated or passive agressive shots about him or whatever team he is on that match the preceding few posts doing the same. It's like if you don't like the guy just say it. No need to try and put up some guise to hope people take your comment more seriously. I was never a Kobe fan. If I ripped him to people or hated on him I'd just own it.

Now, I don't like Curry. He annoys me. I'm a Curry hater. I own it. I think until this series he was coddled by the media and made out to be this innocent humble underdog. Nothing about him is that. He is a 6'3-6'4 point guard with unreal quickness. Grew up the son of a millionaire NBA player and former D1 athlete as a mom. Hung out in NBA locker rooms growing up and shooting around/playing with the best players in the world and every other financial/athletic advantage you could think of. Loves showing up his opponent every chance he gets, which is fine but I don't get the double standard in how everyone gives him a pass for it. I'm a hater.

Also, when it deteriorates to a point where someone becomes unable to have an objective conversation then I just stop taking them seriously and have some fun with it.

I think, win or lose, we can all pump the brakes on anointing Draymond one of the best players in the league.

I think people will finally acknowledge that Klay is the second best player on the team, the second best shooter in the league and probably the best SG in the NBA.

Draymond, imo, is way overrated.

Can't agree with you on that one. He's definitely a hot head though.

Where would you rank him in best players in the league (not trying to "get you" on this)...

I'm genuinely interested.

I was more talking about within the Warriors; I think he's better than Klay. At least for the Warriors and the system they play, I think he's better than Klay. I'm also really drawn to versatile players, so maybe I give him too much credit for that, but I think basically the two things that make the Warriors go more than anything else are, in order, 1) Steph's shooting (Klay is a great shooter as well but Steph is not of this world and can force defenses to do things that no one else can) and 2) the ability of Dray to guard 5's so they can play the death lineup.

In the league; like somewhere around 12 or 15, does that seem too high for you? I acknowledge that I think he is on the perfect team for his set of skills and he probably doesn't look as good on a random team.

At this point I would almost be more surprised if GS won. Strange series. No idea what adjustments GS can make. I think the biggest one is figuring out what else to do instead of just directly switching screens. That has killed them a good portion of the series.

An Amber Alert has been issued for Channing Frye. He went from key player down the stretch to Claude Raines.

Will be interesting to see if Kerr decides to double-team LeBron. May have to, hope he does.

Pre-series I said that the reason GS has an advantage is they don't double Lebron and live with the switches/Lebron scoring, unlike other teams. Alternative is doubling and Lebron finding the open man, usually for 3. Still think there's merit, but the idea is that Lebron isn't scoring 40. Injuries/suspensions haven't helped either on D.

Didn't help the Cavs last year in the finals. Part of the game, that's show biz.

Bro, are you anywhere near Luigi's? I have a hankering for a pie. I buy, you fly?

Tell me when I said they didn't matter? They are mutually exclusive.

Yeah I don't know if you can double him; he's going to slice you up passing. A lot probably depends on how healthy Iggy is right?

Harrison Barnes is 2 for his last 22! Still not that impressed with him in the NBA. Thought he would have been a more consistent player after watching him at UNC.

BTW I found game 6 of the 2oo2 WCF on youtube. Just watched it and was was Walton great. He gets progressively pissed at the refs in the 4th quarter. With the amount of times Rick Adelman complained in the 4th how didn't get ejected? Wow was this game rigged. The Kings had to be 2o points better than Lakers just to keep this game as tight as it was.

Opening lines are in, GS layin' 5. Very tempting, but I long ago just said no to any mo' cocaine, amphetamines or gambling.

Hope this Cleveland, and Syracuse, icon is at courtside Sunday. If the Cavs somehow find a way to take down the vaunted Warriors, these two kings would be forever joined.

Through 6 games I'd have to say the Cavs have not only the best, but two best players in this series.

Well yeah, that's the joke.

Remember when Lebron had no help and people actually asked the question "is this one of the worst Finals teams of all time?"
Eh, I still don't like the team the Cavs have. I think they've played over their heads a bit. Really doesn't matter though, it's a one game final. They just have to be better than the Warriors one more time.

Remember when Lebron had no help and people actually asked the question "is this one of the worst Finals teams of all time?"

Through 6 games I'd have to say the Cavs have not only the best, but two best players in this series.

I don't think anyone seriously asked that. There was one story with a really misleading headline, but other than that, I don't remember people asking that.

This Finals has sucked even though it is going 7. Outside of the first half of games 4 and 5 the games haven't been close and all of the games have been decided by double figures.
These playoffs have sucked as well too many blowouts. I am guessing game 7 goes one of two ways. Warriors win by double figures or Cleveland by 4-7 points.

Warriors are -5 and O/U is 208.
