What I don’t get is that 480,000 people die every single year from smoking not to mention the health impacts from second hand smoke. And that is just in the United States. If politicians care so much about saving every life, why don’t they outlaw smoking? Do those lives not matter?

Yes thank you. Trust me, if they could find a way to tax Covid, we'd be wide open for business.

You do know there are pretty aggressive laws about smoking indoors and in public places in New York State?

Try lighting up on a plane or a bus and see what happens.

Also when smoking deaths become contagious, let's talk.

oh please. smoking is the biggest drain on the health industry and kills the most amount of people of anything that exists. It could be outlawed. It's not. You can't smoke in NY bars? big deal.

Contagious? I consider it contagious when both parents smoke and their kids live in it from birth up until they start smoking themselves by they time they're 12. That's contagious.

If we stick with the OP? There are some interesting concerns.

Every team will have a % of high risk. Blood disorder, anemia, asthma, diabetes, etc.. Nothing is voluntary. If we need Cuomo to make an exception(105 in the same building), now what? Do those kids stay home? If they are forced, does it fall on the school, or the exception?

How are they going to follow official guidelines? Even the NCAA can't figure out how they can use a football, or practice...

Bigger than people would think. Those who can drive to campus, will make the trip.

Also, with finals being virtual, they're going to have to account for possible academic fraud.
Big issue in at least one class this fall. Kid posted his answers on Chegg. Others got the same wrong answers.

Not really. It will still be cooked.
Cooked food not served to someone is better than cooked food self served and thrown out because the eyes were bigger than the stomach.

Some of you guys sicken me. You namby pampy scardy cats saying "oh I don't want to leave my house! No way can we have hundreds of football players breathing on each other and whatnot." Well, I have a statistic for you. I mean I can't exactly quote the source but I read it somewhere.

Now this didn't come from your fake news mainstream media. This came from a reliable source; some blogger who lives in backwoods Louisiana. I can tell you several things with more or less relative confidence: 1) I really read this and it was not a coronavirus stress dream, although Old Uncle Dick has sure had his share of those, know what I mean? 2) the blogger may have been sober, and 3) he was likely a human and not one of those human/reptile mutant inbreds. I mean, we have all thought about what goes on in the bayous when those old boys go out at night with the gators, am I right?

Anyhoo, what he wrote really turned my head around. He said that 16,000 18 year olds are eaten by tigers every year. Wow, I almost choked on my glass of Jamisons when I read that! Now think about it; 16000 is only what percentage of residents of Onondaga County? Well, I'd calculate it but it would involve math so lets all agree that I actually know what I'm talking about, OK?

So 16000 tiger murders every year but does that stop us from letting our kids own tigers? Not where I come from, Jack. You live in my house, you have a pet tiger. I'm not talking about one of those Tony the Tiger-Battlecreek, Michigan tigers either. We're talking a fullblown tiger like the one that mauled Roy. Or Sigfried. I always got those guys mixed up.

If we all agree that we let kids own tigers in spite of a few thousand unlucky ones getting eaten, then we can all agree that football needs to go on. If we're not afraid of tigers then how can we be afraid of a coronavirus. I mean, have you ever actually seen one? I'm not talking about you guys with electron microscopes in your dining room, I'm talking about your average sports board poster.

So let's all be men about this, except the female posters of course, and grow a pair. We can even get Shirt World to make up some tee shirts for the football team saying "I'm risking my life for an extra-curricular activity (but at least I didn't get eaten by my pet tiger)" It is time to get back to normal and I can't think of anything better to give us perspective than those tiger stats.

Thank U my good man. Thank U. Beers and Dome Dogs on me.

Dude... I save this question for a select few posters and it applies now-- are you a real person?

You actually thought what Dick said was NOT satire? It cannot be. This is scary.

No i didn't get it. Went completely over my head.

The best part is I don't know if you're serious or not. But I'll take a dome dog from you... in 2021.

Idk why you have it out for me. BTW, Did u see the article where Ohio State is already planning for in stadium fans at a certain capacity. Once again I educate you Cuomo doesn't have the power that u think he does when it comes to Division 1 College Football.

I did see that. I'm happy about it. You also don't have a clue, as that last sentence demonstrates.

Does anyone realize there are ZERO TEENAGE DEATHS ZERO !!! Over 2300 deaths ages 16-19 in car crashes and zero Covid deaths . Wrap up all the adults who are in contact with students the way drs and nurses do and let the kids be normal. Enough already facts are facts !

while it is fact that the end result for an older person is much worse than for a young person, in central New York the age group for the most infections is 20-29. They survive it for the most part, but they also pass it on to others that are more susceptible to bad outcomes.

No but your the one who doesn't have a clue. Go ahead and continue to lump CNY where Syracuse University and the Carrier Dome where Syracuse football plays in with NYC Tri-State.

BTW, We here in Syracuse for home games could easily do what the the local Casinos ( like Turning Stone) and not allow fans from outside of a 120 mile radius.

Okay that why you isolate the elderly and the most vunerable. Why should the young fit and generally healthy and less vunerable have to do the same. That is my point and the point of folks across the country.

You directly said "doesn't have the power that u think..". What do "I" think?
