I haven’t heard a single person say stay home till a vaccine or treatment. I’ve heard them say until there is a vaccine and/or treatment we won’t be able to go back completely to what we used to have. But they’ve also said we need broad and successful testing to be able to more quickly and confidently open up. That’s not going to happen.

Dude what are u missing. The Country is reopening every state has least partially reopened. Were gonna continue to reopening in phases and be back to normal or a new normal for the time being. So your last sentence is wrong. We will be getting our haircuts and hair done by next weekend, be back to dining out by mid june, and be back to regular indoor and outdoor recreation by late june early july least here in CNY. We are moving right on schedule. To get back to the point I don't know why we couldn't have fans in the dome this fall considering our Covid climate just limit general fan admission to people inside of 120 miles like the Casinos are gonna be doing.

Well, it looks like this author wants to use the pandemic for a different ncaa issue. Ouch. Based on this 9th circuit judge's concurring opinion, on Monday.

"the treatment of Student-Athletes is not the result of free market competition. To the contrary, it is the result of a cartel of buyers acting in concert to artificially depress the price that sellers could otherwise receive for their services. Our antitrust laws were originally meant to prohibit exactly this sort of distortion.”

Well, I can tell you I’ve had a haircut and eaten out at a restaurant this past week here in Georgia. There was nothing even close to normal about either experience. My gym is open, so I can go spend 45 minutes on the elyptical. With a mask on. No thank you. Bars here are not open. Neither are concerts or sporting events. That’s far from normal.

You can‘t have people sitting next to each other at a sporting event. Want to know why?

Over 3 months till kickoff this september.

Do you think covid19 is magically going away In 3 months?

No but no reason we can't get back to being able to attend sport events, concerts, shows etc. With measures such as crowd capacity (and limiting people from coming from outside different areas/regions)

you're lost. that's not what i'm talking about nor what I said. we will not be back to what was normal before the virus for a very long time and will take a vaccine and treatment. restaurants and other establishments being partially open with 25 or 50% capacity is not back to normal. ps: you wont be in the dome.

No reason? There’s a highly contagious, deadly virus killing thousands of people every day. Why do you think we’ve been asked to social distance?

There are some other interesting things from yesterday's meeting. In other words, they are planning for disruptions.

  • Waiving the minimum football attendance requirement for Football Bowl Subdivision members for two years.
  • In sports other than football, basketball, cross country, men’s swimming and diving, indoor and outdoor track and field, and wrestling, teams will not be required to play 50% of contests above the required minimum number of contests against Division I opponents. Those sports are still required to play 100 percent of the minimum number of contests against Division I opponents.
  • Football Championship Subdivision teams will not be required to play at least 50% of football games against FBS or FCS opponents.
  • Financial aid minimums for FBS schools were waived to permit an institution to award at least 75% of the maximum FBS financial aid limit for three years. In addition, institutions will be permitted to award a minimum of 150 athletics grants-in-aid or expend a minimum of $3 million on grants-in-aid to student-athletes for a period of three years. Gender equity requirements and rules governing nonrenewal/cancellation of aid remain in effect.
  • FBS schools will not be required to play 60% of their games against FBS members or play five home games against FBS opponents.

I'm just saying if Universities, Pro Sports Teams, Concert Venues and other entertainment venues are smart and creative there are ways and measures this can be done.

So all these other countries with WAY fewer cases than the U.S. that either are not playing sports or are playing in front of empty stadiums...what’s their deal, bud? Rest of the world is scared, amiright pal?

It would be a temporary new normal i think people would deal with to be able to enjoy such joys as attending a football game.

”Moreover, sports arenas are prime breeding grounds for a respiratory disease such as this. The Champions League soccer match between Atalanta and Valencia in February, is linked to one of the early major outbreaks in Italy.”

There are ways to Reamagine and Redesign the attending fan experience. Have to be smart and creative.

“Moreover, sports arenas are prime breeding grounds for a respiratory disease such as this. The Champions League soccer match between Atalanta and Valencia in February, is linked to one of the early major outbreaks in Italy.”

”If it's true what they're saying that the virus was already circulating in Europe in January, then it's very probable that 40,000 Bergamaschi in the stands of San Siro, all together, exchanged the virus between them.”

A journalist that covered the match became the second person to test positive for the coronavirus in Bergamo. In addition, several Valencia fans that attended the match became infected.

“As of Tuesday, there were nearly 7,000 people in Bergamo that have tested positive for the coronavirus. More than 1,000 people have died as a result of the virus, which makes Bergamo the most heavily hit province during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Valencia also had 2,600 cases of the virus.“

Probably because mass gatherings are the opposite of social distancing, which is really important to not spreading a deadly virus?

Again for the thousand time. People who are older like our seniors or people with underlying medical conditions should avoid mass gatherings. But the people who don't fall into those demographics that is why you redesign and reamagine how you do Mass Gatherings for those people.

So covid19 won’t make young people sick? They can’t spread it?

This is incorrect. There have been teenage deaths. This is why no one takes you seriously. You make up things and call them facts. You have that in common with someone else here in this thread who ONLY WANTS TO LIV MAH LIFE AND WATCH FOOTBALL!!!

To be fair, there have been few (slightly under 100 deaths under the age of 24), but to say ZERO TEENAGE DEATHS ZERO !!! is factually incorrect.

Enough already facts are facts ! Provisional COVID-19 Death Counts by Sex, Age, and State | Data | Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

There. I showed my work. Show me your source that there have been ZERO TEENAGE DEATHS ZERO !!!

We will have to self isolate from our loved ones who are older or have the underlying medical issues after attending a mass gathering.

Found it on google I can’t find again luckily I screen shot MY FACTS ! Somebody is writing false facts on internet I can’t control that . No need to jump on me . My life is more than football thank you for judging without knowing .

So it’s ok to spread to virus to each other? This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

Can you explain why the NBA, NHL, and MLB hasn’t started playing games, even without fans yet? Or why they won’t play with fans in the arenas?

Look at the data we are not spreading it to each other cause we are at a lower risk to get it in the first place.

isolate the young ones who spread it. How would that grab you? Older people would like to go to an event.
