Allow me to take a second to defend Doug Pederson.
Oh, wait, I can't. I get the back-and-forth, but the players wanted to win that game and played like it.
Pederson had other ideas.
You don't think that was Lurie/Roseman's idea?

What about everyone else who rested players? Hurts was 7/20 and an int he had a right to look at another qb.I don’t blame Pederson for wanting to lose but the only issue I have is how blatantly disrespected his players who played hard and put their bodies on the line.
Players shouldn’t care what he says anymore.
There has to be something the NFL can do in the future.
The Philly coach wanted to lose. Maybe the draft order is determined from the first 15 games or something. So losing the last week doesn’t help teams.
It’s not about the Giants at all.
Who are you talking about? What about everyone else who rested players? Hurts was 7/20 and an int he had a right to look at another qb.
Pederson was just following orders from on high so it would be ironic if the people that gave those orders fired him. Everybody who follows the Eagles closely knows that wasn't his idea. Not defending him at all btw as he sacrificed his integrity in order to keep his job.
How was he trying to lose the game? Last time I checked it was a 20-14 game, not 45-3. Like you already said it has nothing to do with the Giants.Who are you talking about?
The Chiefs?
The Bills?
The Steelers?
Pittsburgh rested guys but their coaches didn’t tank a game in game.
They have a game next week. What did Philly have to do with that?
Philly’s HC was trying to lose. You can’t do that in game.
Your dislike of the Giants goes beyond mine and they beat my team in the SB twice.
The Eagles didn’t have to play hard but they did and their coach screwed them in game.
Said the person who wanted teams to intentionally lose games for draft position. That is a complete violation of the integrity of the game. You have two teams who playoff spots are up for grabs. Deserve your best efforts to win the game in a situation like this.
If they left in Hurts and only ran the ball that is how they could have done it.I have no problem with the Eagles tanking but do it subtly. Play as vanilla as possible on O and on D. They were beyond obvious though. As an Eagles player how can you be happy?
No offense I don’t want to have this discussion. If you don’t see it then I don’t need to explain it.How was he trying to lose the game? Last time I checked it was a 20-14 game, not 45-3. Like you already said it has nothing to do with the Giants.

Can't have it both ways. Pal.
Washington has a good defense, they are a better team than Philly, and they had more to play for. People are overreacting. No offense I don’t want to have this discussion. If you don’t see it then I don’t need to explain it.
Yeah cause teams in week 17 down 3 in 3rd quarter on 4th down at the 4 yard line always go for TDs and not kicking FG to tie it with over a quarter to go.Washington has a good defense, they are a better team than Philly, and they had more to play for. People are overreacting.

My god your hatred of the Giants goes this far.
Again I don’t blame Pederson for wanting to lose he made multiple decisions in that game that showed he wanted to lose. I am not going to outline them all because In the grand scheme it’s not a big deal to me. Just don’t pretend you don’t see it.
That was bizarre, but it has nothing to do with the Giants, first of all the Giants were 6-10 they only have themselves to blame for not making the playoffs. I thought all week the Cowboys would win and be in the position and said I would have no problem with what the Eagles did because the Cowboys should have won more games. Hurts was 7/20 with an int, he wanted to give another qb a shot, that is his right to do, if the Cowboys needed Wash to lose I would say the same thing.Yeah cause teams in week 17 down 3 in 3rd quarter on 4th down at the 4 yard line always go for TDs and not kicking FG to tie it with over a quarter to go.

So totally not the point. It's kind of funny to me to see you all arguing this much over that game last night. Regardless of who won that game, the NFC least representative in the playoffs is going to get torched next week. Why so many words typed over that?
Eh yeah. That mindset can be basically used for any situation ever where teams don’t control their own destiny or need some help, which happens all the time. In this case, being 6-10 sure it’s makes more sense but also can still be frustrated how last night went. Only natural.
The Cowboys outplayed them, they torched the one corner all game long. It's two weeks in a row. He gave it away vs Dallas too by just abandoning the run for no good reason. They had it won.

I think people are skewing the line between not putting forth their best effort and trying to lose. Last night's game was a 3 point game until late into the 4th qtr. I have seen plenty of games like this that have ended 38-0.Yeah but with a whole lot of help from Philly who abandoned the run and never switched Mills to CB until game was essentially over. Philly didn't play the last 3 quarters like a team that gave a crap about winning that game.
YepSo we were told that part of the reason why Tua was made starter was to evaluate him for the purposes of steering their potential draft picks ... well if that’s the case ... didn’t he just open the door for the Dolphins to take another QB? His physical tools seem much more pedestrian than they seemed in college ... he’s neither particularly accurate, strong armed, mobile, or fast ...
