OC Rumors

The Ed O stuff sounds fanciful and stupid and all that BUT his life was turned around in Syracuse. Pasqualoni handed him a life line when he was persona non grata.

I think his ex wife was from Syracuse so he probably wants to avoid the area like the plague but Eddie would be a fantastic hire if we didn't care about recruiting violations and a guy who can't coach out of a paper bag. Otherwise, let's do it

So I was chatting with a big time booster in SU athletics he did mention a name, last name, O’Problem first initial B. This isn’t passing the sniff test for me though.
I wouldn't mind this hire, tbh. He could live in Solvay and fit in just fine.;)
I actually heard it's going to be a QB coach from a Tennessee juco - Ben Dover- who is very familiar with the spread.

I think he will bring in some positional coaches and handle OC duties himself
I bet we add at least one coach with a strong background recruiting the DC metro area.

Dino expressed regret not targeting it early during his time at SU and I think Ferri was a big part of our recruiting efforts there.

Which makes the Ferri departure even more strange. I just think Dino is going to “run” the offense.

It would seem to make sense if he hires strong ST coach and solid position coaches especially at QB. If you are going down, go down swinging with you calling the shots. Tough spot to be in but it's his own doing

Wasn't P the QB coach one year?

Ed O can coach. He's won everywhere he's been. It's the circus of Ed O that's been the issue. I'd put up with two years of his circus for two years of his recruiting. He also hasn't been hit with any NCAA violations I know of?

Coach O has made it clear that he won't be coaching next year and I think it was even part of his settlement when they let him go at LSU. I think he loses a good chunk of change if he does coach next year

I think there’s a lawsuit he’s involved in but can’t remember

It’s the down stream reason things got sour so quickly

If he had fired Dino we could have hired Joe Moorhead who i believe is perfect for SU as a head coach who would stay here for a very long time.
Now we are stuck with Dino who will most likely get fired next year and we miss out on a great coach great fit.
At this point im hoping that if Dino doesnt pull a Pineapple out of his hat next year that coach White is elevated and we hire a young gun OC. Sucks we missed out on Joe
What would keep morehead here longer than he needs to be if he was successful? He already has proven he can coach in the SEC, cuse would be a stepping stone back the SEC if he was successful.

I can see Ed looking out over Skaneateles lake from his Hot tub stuffed with pretty young things.

We will have an OC next season.

Or a Co-OC.

Or maybe a Tri-OC.

Did you know that CO-OC spelled backwards is CO-OC?

Maybe we should just not have an OC at all, given how well it worked out not having a Special Teams coach this year.

Cuse is going to be a stepping stone no matter who we hire. So it doesn’t matter.

If there were a worthy candidate we could offer a former player who would be less likely to leave. And we can put more of the budget into the OC, DC, STC, and OL coach since we are saving on HC. Having stability at HC would be great for recruiting and having ties to high schools in the Northeast. The would still be potential for a revolving door at OC but at least the face of the program is the same. But the closet I could think of is Giufre and he isn't all that qualified. Richardson and Walker seem to be out of coaching. Outten doesn't have the experience. Marrone burned bridges. Warner is a little old.
