OC Rumors

I mean... he lost 3 of the 4 games after VT and still kept his job. I don’t think it was critical lol
It’s more complicated than that.

Ribs, like teams, get better.
hungry fat bastard GIF

Not really. If he lost the BC game as well do you think he gets fired? They weren’t must wins because he didn’t win them and he still kept his job.

I don’t know. No one does. But I thought he had to go 6-6 to be kept on. He missed that. But as JW said, there are other factors. It’s complicated.

Sans a complete collapse Dino was good before we played a game this year.

I don’t believe that’s true. But I’m interested to know what you base that opinion on. I’ve not seen or read anything that would indicate that is the case.

I do believe it to be the case and stated so numerous times early in the season.
Dino is well liked and runs a clean program. Couple that with a draconian buyout and suffice to say the administration was pulling for him. As to not reading anything thats standard operating procedure. As to seeing something i cant comment on that. I know what i was told and i believed it and it proved to be the result. I stated he would be retained at the 3 game mark. Maybe he would have been let go with only 3 wins. I dont think so but at this point it doesn’t matter.
Next year i also believe Dino will be retained if he wins 5 games and is competitive. Less than 5 and my guess , yes guess this time as i hasn't heard anything is that he will be let go.
Also i post what i hear from people who are close to the situation people that i know. Its not a fact rather a well informed opinion. Take it for what its worth but dont waste energy debating the accuracy of it. Just know that its an opinion based on what i have been told. Nothing more or less.
Other than CTO i would say that the way it is for most everyone who hears something from someone who is close to a situation.

I am not going to feel great if we go to that looking to fill out the staff.
We are so slow to make moves.

The big boys, they get spit done quick - they don't fart around.

They have their target in mind and they make the play.

We seemingly are content to let things play out as they may.

Does anyone care he runs a clean program? Does the NCAA? other programs?,P5 football is changing quick to professional football. All the things that were deemed not acceptable are quickly becoming acceptable and the norm. SU has a decision to make in the next 10 years.

Yes, running a clean program is as important as anything else. Screw the SEC.

The chancellor and the BOT do.

While the opinion and behavior (i.e. attending games) of fans might be taken into account, these are the ultimate decision makers.

SU can’t keep up. They have a hard time raising money for athletics and now you think people are going to fork out money to athletes. I don’t think it’s going to happen. We currently have two high profile players in Buddy and Sean Tucker and they can’t get deals that can even match some unknown offensive lineman at Texas.

Interesting, Jake posted ( usually on top of things ) that at least on the basketball side that SU will be in good shape. ( Medium city with large fan base and no pro sports )

This is a pecking order thing. Much like recruiting - not a whole lot can change it. Money perhaps.

Dino is most likely A a procrastinator and B this isnt exactly a great gig given his situation.
I would elevate Lynch. Bring in a good QB position coach and id call my own plays vs hiring a retread.
The other call is bring in a stud and give them a nice guarantee.
