to be fair, they never were a legit big boy. Every time they played a legit big boy, they got crushed. The big wins for UConn consisted of beating basically .500 South carolina, Iowa St and N.D..
What about our winning record against SU?

Let's be clear because most UConn fans are just too stupid to understand this. UConn would pray to have the history that we do. I don't mean back in the 50's and 60's. I mean from '87 to 2002. We stayed too long with P and made a really big error with g-rob. We went ot the bottom of d-1. Really, anyone could beat us. We hired Marrone and in really no time, went past UConn. I think we beat you by 30 the last time we played and you can be thankful we don't play you anymore (would you guys agree to play us 5 at the Dome and once at the rent? Something w e could work on). The program has stabilized. Wew are on our way back to at least a 7-9 win team. Against real comp., UConn has never been that, and never will. Clear enough for you? And also to be clear, you have no idea what kind of head coach this guy will be. None. What about our winning record against SU?

LOL You set the Big East back 20 years with your Fiesta bowl. And don't count on ever going to a bowl like that again. We are both on our way to where we belong. Oh, and to the moronic statement you made about us not counting the P years since 1970. Fine. In hoop, you don't count the Calhoun years. We will go with Dee Rowe, Dom Perno and Kevin Ollie.Sorry if I don't see 8-5 and a Pinstripe Bowl as blowing past us. Not when a couple years before that we were in the Fiesta Bowl.
And we have plenty of 30+ wins against SU. Over the next few years, if Diaco is a better coach, we'll have a higher RPI. If Shafer is a better coach, SU will have a higher RPI.
I have to go back to work but just for the record. You are a swell guy. We are honored to have you join us here for a chat. You add much to our board. Come back soon, ya hear.Sorry if I don't see 8-5 and a Pinstripe Bowl as blowing past us. Not when a couple years before that we were in the Fiesta Bowl.

Uconn went to a BCS bowl at 8-5. Less a statement of how good Uconn was than how embarassing the Big East wa.s

Uconn in the Fiesta Bowl is analogous to San Diego State being biggest barrier to a national championship.
You're just nuts.No. Not at all. The ACC is a much more stable place and I would want to be there.
However, when it comes to on field results, I don't think its as big an advantage as you might think. Not for the next 5 years or so.
Nice. Bring our recent National Championship in BB under Kemba when we won 11 straight games to end the season and embarrass me with that
You're just nuts.
Are you forgetting the two UCONN BE championships and our BCS game?
Take the emotion out of it - would you be shocked if UCONN had a better team (on-the-field) than Rutgers in 3 or 4 years? Beat them in a bowl, for example?
I wouldn't.
And RU and UCONN have been pretty even over the past decade & I don't Rutgers finishing ahead of Michigan, Penn St, Ohio St, MI State anytime soon. Not more likely than UCONN finishes ahead of Boise and UCF.
I didn't forget that but you're not in an AQ conference anymore. Nobody in the AAC will EVER get into a playoff and the AAC will only be tied to lower tier bowl games.
Is the ACK going to add a championship game?If this season was under the rules for next season, UCF would still be going to one of the top 4 bowls not used in the playoff.
Most years, Clemson and FSU will be ranked above all but maybe 1 out of those 50, so yes, I think its easier. How many times has the ACC had two?
Yes, I would.Take the emotion out of it - would you be shocked if UCONN had a better team (on-the-field) than Rutgers in 3 or 4 years? Beat them in a bowl, for example?
To be fair, that wasn't Yukon's fault. The ironic thing is that the presence of that completely unqualified 8-5 Uconn team in a BCS bowl was a key driving factor that resulted in the rule changes designed to prevent a gross injustice like this from ever happening again.
To be fair, that wasn't Yukon's fault.
WVU losing @ Yukon by 3 in OT, and Pitt losing @ Yukon by 3 is what caused that situation. Correct either one and it would've been 9-3 WVU or 7-5 Pitt in the bowl game. 7-5 Pitt? Nah, that would've been just as bad. It clearly was WfVU's fault.
Thank you for ignoring my legitimate points because they don't fit your argument. BTW, Cincinnati has played in 2 BCS games and actually sold out all their allotment of tickets for the Sugar Bowl in 2010 against Florida.
Cincinnati has gone 9-3, 10-3, 10-3, 4-8 since going to the back to back BCS games
UConn has gone 3-9, 5-7, 5-7, 8-5, 8-5 in the past 5 years.
UConn recruiting homebase is CT, NY, NJ, FL. Cincinnati recruitng homebase OH, KY, FL
Advantage Cincinnati.
Continue selling us a bunch of crap. Schools like East Carolina, Tulsa, Houston, UCF all will have advantages over UConn in the AAC. Good luck playing bowling games in Marlins Park, Aruba against other non-P5 teams.
Unless you get into a P5 conference within 5 years UConn football is over being a legitimate bigboy and will become a plucky mid-major that can occasionally have a good season.
sdhusky said:yeah. It was our fault we kept beating programs like WVU, SU & Pitt.
