Over/under 8.5 scholarship players next year

The whole dynamics of competition and recruiting changed when SU entered the ACC. How many poster predicted problems with the change in conference? A lot. How well have the other former BE schools now in the ACC fared. Other than Louisville, not well. How many times have people cried Carolina bias on officiating and conference decisions? So yes standards have changed

Which recruits have we missed on cause of the switch to the ACC besides Andre Jackson? Also, ND and Pitt are not peer programs for SU, Louisville is. So if Louisville can have success in the ACC, so can SU.

Blaming the ACC for SU's failures is a lazy excuse.

If you could read, you'd have seen where I pointed out the Top 10 ranking in 2016, the near miss in 2018 (#26) and the probable Top 25 ranking this year. Guess the world is not ending?

Have a good day yourself.
You need to lighten up.

If you are arguing top 25 you are in or out. Near misses do not count.

Just like NCAA tourney. You made it or you didn't.

You think a more talented guy would want to find here knowing what happened with Kadary?
look what happened to Torrence at Marquette ! He may be a better fit with SU. We need a guy that wants to be our point guard. Unfortunately that wasn’t Kadary

We were ranked #10 in 2016. Does that count? Is there a difference between #26 and not getting any votes for the Top 25? Thanks for the advice chief.

Never blamed the ACC. And Pitt was a peer program, at least in man eyes. If not all these loses to them ere to a lesser program? I'll give you ND

It’s not advise You weren’t making a good argument. You are either in the top 25 or not.

You said I needed to lighten up. Is that not advice? We finished #10 in 2016. I pointed out #26 in 2018 to show we just missed another Top 25 in 2018. That‘s true, right?

The argument is diluted at this point. I was simply saying as a general reader that whomever you jumped on couldn’t read. You were using top 25 as a bench mark but we were just outside top 25. Either you are top 25 or not. Just outside doesn’t count if you are using top 25. Votes or no votes

That person ignored the Top 10 ranking in 2016. I wasn’t arguing we made the Top 25 in 2018, Rather we just missed it. There’s a big difference in #26 after a Sweet 16 run and a team that‘s 18-14 and didn‘t make the tournament. I also think there’s a good chance we are ranked this year when the final poll comes out. But if we finish #26, does it really matter?

It does not matter to start the season. I hope we are ranked. I’m tired of not being ranked

So the final poll matters to you? Then I hope we make it in the final poll next week. I care more about the Sweet 16 run, and a chance to make it to another Elite 8 and Final Four.

The overall matters. Season and ultimately tournament. I want to be be consistently in the polls. If we are out of the polls than it’s more of a blip or off scenario than the norm. last time in top 25 was dec of 18 I believe. Longtime to not be ranked.

You mean where we were before sanctions? We’d all like that. A lot has changed since those days. But maybe we are ranked next week. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you.

L'Ville may be a basketball peer, but they are not an academic peer. They accept students who can not get through our admissions office.

I hark back to circa 2004-05, when BE football was scrambling and grabbed USF, Cincinnati, Louisville, etc. The unlamented Nancy Cantor actually went public bemoaning the fact that SU was not competing on a level playing field vis-a-vis several of its conference mates.

It is the same today re: Louisville. However, pretty much all of the remainder of the ACC is a good academic fit with SU, which is a good reason for being in that league.

Sanctions? That was a long time ago. There is a thread that shows win percentage of JBs 45 years. This is the longest down period we have had and this isn't the first time we had sanctions. I don't believe sanctions are the explanation. Too long ago.

“Another” as in we’ve been ranked many, many times in the Top 25 final poll.

Again, learn to read.

I don’t think we’ve been ranked in February at all since 2014.

Su got selected for the last 3 tournaments and based on seeding has been determined to be a top 40 team.

The sanctions jut ended last year. Probation for five years, from March 2015 to March 2020. Lost 12 scholarships over 4 years. It certainly had a negative, long-lasting effect on the program.

Kadary wanted to be our PG. 3rd guard off the bench is not the same position as starting PG.

thats what he wanted, good for him

was he told there was no way that was going to happen?
