All of those are very winnable three games to start a season off.

Didn't we lose that game like 51-0? Not sure this is the best example.

The reporter has a right and an obligation to ask the questions the fan base is asking. Shafer doesn't have to answer and in some situation would be prohibited from doing so. But that's no reason to get mad at the reporter for asking the question.

Cut him some slack. He was pissed, worried and nervous all at the same time because of the Dungey injury and how the game played out after he got hurt. We all know he's a great interview and always has been.

Probably is unsure himself at this juncture who will be able to play next week. That would make any coach a little bit antsy. SU can not seem to catch a break with all our injuries. The one thing he said I really agree with is the team got it done this week, and he should be proud that some players that were not expected to be contributors got us to the win, shaky though it might have been.

We went to 20% to win when we were up 14 at HT and receiving the opening kickoff? Umn, no and our D was shredded what did that have to with the offense. I give the coach credit for equaling last year' win total but these wins were expected. I want to win games but I am not in the business of making things better than they are. SS sold that 3-0 like it was unexpected. Our talent even with the injuries was higher rated than CMU. I glad we won I am way more upset at the D than I am the O. With Dungey we likely win by 7-14. I will say our O with Dungey looks legit and if he isn't out for more than a game or two we will make a bowl and my preseason expectations were off. I would say with Dungey we will make a bowl and I would have been wrong.

You are wrong. Our talent minus the injured is less than CMU especially at the most important position. They had a kid who might make the league. We won the game with a walk on. Get your head out of your ass.

This statement is why I love America. How did Rush do anything that Wofford didn't do the previous week. You throw an insult at me to get likes. Rush threw 1oo yards more than he did against Monmouth and 200 more yards than he did against Oklahoma State. He completed a higher percentage of throws as well.
Our D made me him look great but of course to spin and make it look better he is an NFL prospect. Rush isn't listed as an NFL prospect on NFL draft analysts boards yet.

I bet jb has watched a movie and said that movie sucked. The guy who made that movie knows more about making a movie than jb ever will. JB has no right no matter how much he knows or thinks he knows to be a jerk. He just doesn't. There is a right way and a wrong way. And the NCAA wasn't looking at us in the early 90's until the Post Standard wrote the out of bounds series. Do they write that series without Jb being a jerk to them? Maybe. Maybe not. He should stay - even if only to adhere to that "give him 4 years" ideal. He's a good coach.

But I'd say he knew he shouldn't have called thsat time out, because he felt the need to give 3 excuses. People sometimes do that to compensate for their lack of one strong reason to stand on its own. But hey, he instinctively deferred to his natural coaching conservatism, which is usually the right move.

I have not read one posting in this thread, I swear. I only had to see the header, and I feel compelled to respond. CSS's presser seemed defensive, right! Well of course it did, and I don't blame him one bit. Plain and simple, after getting a barrage of negative, glass half full comments and questions, week after week, from the brigade of nattering nabobs of negativism, all while winning 3 straight games, would wear on a realistic, sane person. I, for one have CSS's, back. Do I agree with every decision he has made, absolutely not, but he has my respect, and should have yours! GO ORANGEMEN!!!!
