I wouldn't read that much into it.Moontan, Should we take this as corroboration of a ACC/SEC annual football matchup and a working alliance ?

It will help their SOS to beat a top-25 BCS OOC team.Gotta be honest, this is pure win for us. Not a whole lot of upside for LSU, unless they view it as a name BCS program that they should expect to beat easily twice.
Wrong pronoun, it should be "our" not "their". Just my take.It will help their SOS to beat a top-25 BCS OOC team.
Not a chance Boeheim goes for this regardless of what it would mean for football. Not his job to help football.Honestly if good football schools will give us home/homes I would have Dr, Gross give those teams basketball home/homes as compensate and tell JB to help the football program your taking your team down to Baton Rouge, or out to Los Angeles, Tuscaloosa if it will help the football program.
Also, oof...reading the LSU boards, they aren't exactly thrilled about this series.
The opinions on scheduling OOC games varies, but I personally wish we would limit it to one cream puff. Looks like Western Kentucky (Sun Belt) and Eastern Michigan (MAC) are already on the schedule. Syracuse would at least be a step up from those two. Not sure who the fourth would be, would sure like to see us go to 9 SEC games so we don't do this dick dance every year.
I thought the Big-10 prohibited members from playing FCS teams. Did I just imagine this?
I realize JB is the biggest figure in the SU AD, but if Dr. Gross asked JB if he would play a basketball series as a carrot to get a 5 star football program to play us home/home I think JB would do it as he bleeds Orange thru and thru I have seen him at many SU football games. Not a chance Boeheim goes for this regardless of what it would mean for football. Not his job to help football.
Maybe Rutgers negotiated a cream puff clause into their agreement with the Big 10. They may have even negotiated a "Greg Robinson Clause" too, where one of their new Big 10 rivals has to hire Gerg and thus ensure RU will be successful. In a fake successful way like beforeI thought the Big-10 prohibited members from playing FCS teams. Did I just imagine this?
Our national perception will only change when we stop getting beat by the big boys 59-3. We can go 8-4 or 9-3 and still be percieved as a mid major type program if you lose games to Clemson, GT and FSU by an average score over 50 points in the same season.these threads should be wake up calls to show just how bad our national perception. pretty brutal stuff.
this post here sums it up nicely. even though we handled WVU the past 3 times they are still looked at as a worth opponent. not only have we hammered them 3 straight times, but they had 4 wins last year. same with UNC who we have had a better record then lately

We are better than most though. Over the years we've at least played Va Tech, Oregon, Washington, UNC, West Virginia. 2011 schedule is an example of how it should be done.
