Possible future series with LSU

Moontan, Should we take this as corroboration of a ACC/SEC annual football matchup and a working alliance ?
I wouldn't read that much into it.

2015 has been the year i have been looking forward to as our coming out party. now this would definitely put us back on the map.

pretty nice recruiting tool as well being able to sell LSU in Death Valley

these threads should be wake up calls to show just how bad our national perception. pretty brutal stuff.

this post here sums it up nicely. even though we handled WVU the past 3 times they are still looked at as a worth opponent. not only have we hammered them 3 straight times, but they had 4 wins last year. same with UNC who we have had a better record then lately

The opinions on scheduling OOC games varies, but I personally wish we would limit it to one cream puff. Looks like Western Kentucky (Sun Belt) and Eastern Michigan (MAC) are already on the schedule. Syracuse would at least be a step up from those two. Not sure who the fourth would be, would sure like to see us go to 9 SEC games so we don't do this dick dance every year.

We are better than most though. Over the years we've at least played Va Tech, Oregon, Washington, UNC, West Virginia. 2011 schedule is an example of how it should be done.

They are going to have the same look on their face as Maryland and Minnisota , and say." we lost to a very bad Syracuse team.", too. Also, can Scott Shafer and Les Miles be in the same room together , that seems scary.

If this a true home/home Tiger Stadium and the Carrier Dome. Home freaking run by Dr. Gross and the AD office. LSU is a tier 1 SEC school and legit super home game for the SU fanbase. Great job by Dr. Gross I give credit when its due and this a 5 star great job.

Honestly if good football schools will give us home/homes I would have Dr, Gross give those teams basketball home/homes as compensate and tell JB to help the football program your taking your team down to Baton Rouge, or out to Los Angeles, Tuscaloosa if it will help the football program.

Not a chance Boeheim goes for this regardless of what it would mean for football. Not his job to help football.

I guess 'Bama and Auburn must be ducking us...

Wow, do you guys really want to add SEC powerhouses to the more than we can chew scheduling we already have?

Yes and cancel the silly NJ games.

They consider us a step up from Western Kentucky and Eastern Michigan. I call that progress.

Plus they said dick dance, so they have Millhouse's attention. I look forward to announcing his orientation at each SEC school. So far I've only crossed Tennessee and Auburn off that bucket list.

Yep.

1) You can fit all the 's I give about how LSU fans perceive us in a thimble.

2) Thrilled this would be at the Dome. I'm 100% in favor of weaseling out of the MetLife commitment by any means necessary.

3) This guy is honorary captain:

I thought the Big-10 prohibited members from playing FCS teams. Did I just imagine this?

No one will ever consider them to truly be a Big 10 team. They're just victims of fortunate geography and theoretical television viewers.

I realize JB is the biggest figure in the SU AD, but if Dr. Gross asked JB if he would play a basketball series as a carrot to get a 5 star football program to play us home/home I think JB would do it as he bleeds Orange thru and thru I have seen him at many SU football games.

Boeheim watered down the non-conference schedules for basketball starting in 2004-2005 because he was helping the AD by playing more home games and getting more revenue for the athletic department because football attendance was starting to get apathetic. If you read when SU got snubbed in 2007 and 2008 JB said we played all those home games because the AD office needed the revenue that football wasn't helping with.

As long as our other three OOC games are cream puffs the years we schedule LSU, then I love this. We can't afford more than 1 OOC loss with FSU, Clemson etc. on our schedule every year. Simply put, this isn't the Big East so our OOC doesn't need to be brutal, there is plenty of in conference quality. Love that the home game will actually be a home game. Looks like 2015 and 2017 are the likely dates. Would fit perfectly as we don't have ND in either of those years

Maybe Rutgers negotiated a cream puff clause into their agreement with the Big 10. They may have even negotiated a "Greg Robinson Clause" too, where one of their new Big 10 rivals has to hire Gerg and thus ensure RU will be successful. In a fake successful way like before

Our national perception will only change when we stop getting beat by the big boys 59-3. We can go 8-4 or 9-3 and still be percieved as a mid major type program if you lose games to Clemson, GT and FSU by an average score over 50 points in the same season.

I for one hope that the AD see's the light at the end of the tunnel for home games, and it is at the Dome, not Metlife.
