Doug got Orton to stop being a turnover machine at Buffalo, which was really something to see. So, I think he could rebuild BB5's confidence but the J'ville fans won't let up on him even though he lost an elite receiver that would make any QB more relaxed and confident. Wish they could have gotten Hogan, bot Belichek has him locked up.

St. Doug's got a great defense that he inherited but the other teams that game manged to a SB title (Ravens x2, Bucs, Broncos) had QB's that were at least serviceable and could make a throw once in a while. Bortles is nowhere near Dilfer, Flacco, Johnson, and Manning's level.

Did you just claim that Dilfer was a serviceable QB? Check his career TD-Int ratio. Dilfer was trash and probably the worst QB in the history of the league to win a SB. Dilfer is the anti-Marino.

Yep I see no difference between the level of competition in the ACC and Big East. They are identical . Doug's a good coach but I still think Dino has the higher ceiling in a much tougher conference than Doug coached in.

Amazing that is exactly what folks said when he was in Buffalo...He inherited a great defense and had a serviceable QB and offense.

Pretty remarkable that he inherited both of those exact same things when he went to Jacksonville when they didn't have them in either case before he got there.

Must be coincidence. What was Buffalo's defensive ranking before he arrived and after. What was Jacksonville's defensive ranking before he arrived and now. They improved under his leadership in both places. Wonder why and how that happened.

Couldn't be that he made good decisions and maybe changed personnel and also hired the right people. Nah.
