Saint Dougie...

It's amazing how the fortunes of the Orange and the Bills seem to parallel each other. The Bills haven't made the playoffs since 1999. SU hasn't been ranked since 2001. One of the big problems over the years is the inability to find a high-quality quarterback. Another is that we keep changing coaches and starting over again. Both were coached by Doug Marrone, who improved the team but then left before the job was done. This year both teams had promising seasons: 4-3 and a win over Clemson, 5-4 and a possible playoff team. Both have had dismal performances the last two weeks, crushing hopes of a bowl/playoff. Both are playing their back-up quarterbacks with bad results.

I'm glad I'm not a Bills fan. I tend to follow the teams that have SU stars, (although it doesn't always take), and keep rooting for them after the SU stars leave as long they are winning. Maybe if Ernie Davis had gone to the AFL, (where he would have been a Bill) instead of the NFL and had better luck with his health...

You know the relation. Doug leaves Buffalo after 9-7 season and Buffalo fans decide Doug sucks and Rex is their new savior. Rex craps the bed. Buffalo fans still feel the sting of being jilted and continue rhetoric that Doug is not a good coach. Even with no real QB to speak of, Doug is still winning in his first year as HC with the Jags. Jacksonville offense ranked 25th in scoring last year... 8th this year. 24th in points allowed last year, 8th this year. Things will look better when they get a QB.
they could've made the playoffs in marrone's last year if he had been smarter during the games (chiefs, dolphins games)

I'm trusting the process. I like that he's not afraid to take chances, at least.
there is no process, it's just a bunch of bullshart

his process is to hire a nobody to install the wrong offense and pretend that his coaching magically leads to more turnovers (when it's really just luck)

1st in points allowed. 2.5 less than Pittsburgh.

1st in total defense, pass defense, rushing offense. Since picking up Dareus they have gone from 32nd to 16th in rush defense.

there is an argument to be made now that dareus is the greatest athlete in human history just based on what's happened to the bills and jags since

i called him a fat loser a couple weeks ago - which is true - he's a damn good fat loser

Thanks. I meant to put in 1st this year in points allowed, not 8th. edited now.

Here's the murderer's row of QBs Jacksonville has faced this season:

Savage (sucks bad), Mariota (Mr. Meh himself), Mallett (he's still in the league?), McCown (defines backup journeyman), Roethlisberger (he's the real deal), Goff (on his way), Brissett (was the Pats 3rd stringer for a reason), Dalton (the red rifle ain't what he used to be), Rivers (can still ball), whoever the Hell the Browns rolled out there (sucks).

So of the ten, I count three good QBs, 2 mediocre as can be QBs, and 5 guys that aren't just crappy, they're really crappy. They get Mariota again and Russell Wilson on the schedule, and four more Dumpasaurus Rex level QBs.

Kudos to the Jags for milking the schedule and capitalizing on playing terrible QBs/offenses, but this is going to leave them a bit unprepared to compete in the playoffs against the likes of Brady/Ben/Smith.

Marrone is a saint though, so the heavens are the limit.

You forgot to mention Marrone has Bortles... who is probably worse than any you noted.

Nobody goes out of their way more to discount any accomplishment than Marrone haters. Comical, virtual clown car full of dopes.

you're trying too hard

they play good qbs, average qbs, and bad qbs. imagine that!

six games holding teams below 10, c'mon

a lot of defensive coaches don't know what to do on offense. he's an offensive coach that knows what he wants on defense. the offense is usually average but that's pretty good overall. 3 straight years with good defenses is good. i still don't care that he left buffalo but they'll go 11-5, 12-4, that's hard to quibble with

Jags, #1 run defense last three weeks.

So you're saying you took the bait.

mcdermott has the gregg williams hubris/arrogance thing going on

all these 1st time coaches come out guns blazing even though they don't know anything

retreads are retreads for a reason

they should just fire mcdermott now, let frazier finish up, and start over next year

Most of the time when you turn over a roster, it's from the bottom up, the Bills have done it top down.

They seem to think that letting someone walk after their contact is up is the worst thing ever. Arrogance that they'll be so smart with crappy draft picks. This year would be more fun with Watkins Goodwin woods and dareus

Instead we get lots of fullbacks

I hear the TE is Jack Nicklaus' grandson, did you know that?

As neither a Bills nor a Jags fan I have no skin in this game. That said, I have watched Bortles play the last few weeks, and he is beyond atrocious. Horrible.
