Agreed. This is a free roll for us
Good for his AAU coach. He may have given his kid bad advice, betrayed the family he promised he would have their best interests at heart but hey he got to back to back finals.WeR1 back-to-back UA champs...
EA had 17 points (4-13 shooting.. 0-1 from downtown & 9-10 from the line), 11 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 2 turnovers.
Pretty big groundless assumptions you are spewing.Good for his AAU coach. He may have given his kid bad advice, betrayed the family he promised he would have their best interests at heart but hey he got to back to back finals.
Ayala and WeR1 are in the UA Final tomorrow...
Ohio State may luck into this one, assuming he wants to go now. I thought Oregon was an option for 2017 too. So glad we aren't still waiting on his decision.
What the heck can Ohio State offer him that Cuse couldn't deliver in spades? Opportunity? Exposure? Coaching? Great teammates? Great fans? Melon center? If he reclassified to 2017 for them he definitely screwed the poochOhio State may luck into this one, assuming he wants to go now. I thought Oregon was an option for 2017 too. the kid continues to get horrible guidance

My understanding is that his AAU coach has considerable influence with him and is in his ear not to reclassify to 2017. Suggestion being that the coach is encouraging him to wait for blue blood offers and he is selfishly keeping him in 2018 so the coach can have Ayala for another AAU year. What guidance is he getting and why is it horrible? I've seen a lot of posts how he has been getting people in his ear that are hurting him but I don't know any specifics that people are referencing. Can you share?
It would be like the past couple years. This summer has been so relaxing. If we were still waiting on his decision, the recruiting board would have just exploded by now.

Thorpe is so much better than Ayala at this point it isn't even close.

Yes these really are significant decisionsSometimes kid just don't know what to do. A local kid has been offered a spot with the NJ Red Bulls residential academy. From there he can write his ticket to college, but he would miss his senior year of HS. Last I knew, he was still undecided.
I see it although it's hard because of the age of the two players being so far apart. The both kind of have an old man game in the sense that they both aren't elite blow by guys but find a crafty way to score and seem to use their bodies well to shield defenders. It's a tough decision for me to decide what I would prefer. 3-4 years of Ayala or 1 year of Thorpe with the possibility of landing Carey. I would lean towards the second because I have a good feeling about Carey for some reason. I could be off on my comparison because I don't remember watching Thorpe before college and I haven't seen much video in general on him so it's just a limited video watch general opinion.Comparison I'd like to run past the board. Not that they are completely identical, but Ayala's game reminds me a LOT of Thorpe's. Very similar players, based upon the game tape.
Anybody else see that similarity?
