I saw the musical Cats once. Worst show I have ever seen (and I love Andrew Lloyd Webber).

Anyone who wanted a Cats movie is getting exactly what they deserve.

I'm a Broadway fan but I really dislike this show.

When it opened on broadway it was a dazzling achievement in technical theatre (costumes, makeup, scenery, lighting), with an enormous budget and it hid alot of the shortcomings of the show, most of all that the story is pretty weak. With the exception of Memory (which Andrew Lloyd Webber convinced Barbara Stresand to record and was released prior to the broadway opeing when it was still playing in Londons West End) the songs are forgettable. The show has no heart or soul.

I'm not a big ALW fan, but this show is by far his worst. With the success of movie musicals we will see more in the near future (In the Heights, The Prom, West Side Story) but this one will be the worst no matter how great the cast is or how expensive the CGI is.

I remember at intermission thinking what exactly am I watching?

Some good songs, some interesting dancing. But there wasn’t a story, or if there was I just never got it.
